I ordered 1 for my hard to please grandson, He adored it...and had to order another one for His Sister, who loved it too! And. I will be ordering another pretty soon for me. Havent' started any fire yet...but makes sparks nicely.

This is made with quality materials, nice, supple, strong leather and nicely shaped ferro rod and striker. Wear it when I’m camping and forget it’s even there until needed. Takes a little technique to squeeze the leather straps out of the way of the striker when in use, but easy enough. Recommended

Nice looking Firestarter necklace. The components are amaller than I had assumed, and are stylish and unobtrusive.After sliding them apart, the surface of the magnesium cylinder can be scraped off with the ceramic striker, creating large crackling sparks which can easily start dry tinder such as dryer lint, sawdust or steel wool.The glossy black paint finish on the cylinder comes off quite easily, but the shiny magnesium surface oxidizes back to matte black after a few hours, and I actually prefer the matte look.

It’s nice to have the knowledge that you can always make fire in an emergency situation if you are wearing the necklace, it’s easy to wear, and it looks nice too.

This was a Christmas gift for my outdoorsman son and he loves it! He has started several fires and says he will never go "into the wild" without it. He loves that he can wear it so it is always handy, and the added benefit that it is an attractive piece of jewelry that draws attention and compliments on a regular basis. Everything about this high quality - the leather is strong, yet smooth and soft; the adjustable knotting allows for a perfect fit; and, after just a few practice strikes to determine the proper angle, my son can create a spark on the first strike every time.
