The red/black 1.5" wood checker pieces by WE Games are excellent quality at a great price. When I received my order, one piece was split and two pieces were chipped, so I requested replacements for those three pieces. Wood Expressions (WE) responded the same day and kept me informed about the replacements, which I received five days after original receipt. Final product looks great on the checkers/chess table made by my grandfather. WE customer service was outstanding. Highly recommend this product and this company.

I had a tiny problem which the seller VERY quickly addressed and made me happy.The checkers are 1 1/2 inch across and fit fairly snugly into each other for 'Kinging' in the game of Checkers.As well they come in a draw-string bag so they don't get lost.....a nice thought.All in all they are perfect for the game and I expect they will last several lifetimes.

The checker pieces are just about the perfect size for a tournament sized chess board (2.25" squares). I think for $10 this was a good deal, for real wooden checker pieces and a nice drawstring bag. A few of the checker pieces have splits and cracks, and the wood seems very lightweight (obviously not a hardwood like maple, probably pine or something similar). But for nice heavy checker pieces, I would expect a higher price. I would love to have some nice checkers made of Uria stone, but that would cost 3x as much as this set of checkers.

Excellent checkers. They may be the only large (about 1.5 inch ) set designed for checkers instead of backgammon and incidentally checkers.The backgammon sets, especially the ones for magnetic boards, are precisely sized for backgammon and too small for checkers. Most sets contain 15 pieces to allow use for both backgammon and checkers. This set has 12 pieces per side and a more aesthetic look than the flat pieces.I purchased these for use on a framed (by me) green and white (checker championship colors) large vinyl chess board. I now have wood checkers plus wood chess pieces. I may buy another set or more to paint (the black ones ) white to obtain the ACF recognized colors. I am a barely past beginner checker player level. Well I now compare myself to high level players who are far ahead of me after I ignored checkers for about 30 years. I like the old timer boards and checkers as well as the pro stuff. Smaller sizes can fit on tables at home. So I have diverse preferences.The ACF (American Checker Federation) sells official boards and official color (red and white) checkers. Sometimes computer screens and books are easier to follow if duplicating the colors on a board in front of me. The male and frequently color blind (?) checker players have chosen the pro colors for visibility while playing games.
