The nut just below the socket does not hold the socket very tightly. This might be a problem down the line. Otherwise the unit appears to be of reasonable quality

Purchased 10 of these to replace portable flood light use for Christmas Decorations. Old ones lasted 15 years. These are a lot thinner in construction than the old. Oh well, sign of the times.

I didn't realize it was plastic but seems to work fine with no problems. It also was more reasonable then just buying the just the seals which is what we really needed.

Well built and quite solid. It's made mostly of metal, with some plastic. I'm sure it will be fine for my usage (lights under a covered patio).Unlike some other reviews, I found the swivel nut to be sufficiently tight to keep bulbs from sagging.I'd buy these again.

The Amazon description page refers to the name HUBBELL-BELL, part number LTS100Z. The item received was labeled as TAYMAC, part number LTS100Z. For the record, Hubbell-Bell, TayMac are trademarks owned by the Hubbell Corporation..This metal, outdoor lamp-holder is made in China, but it is WELL CONSTRUCTED. It has an excellent bulb gasket and the connecting wires are of sufficient length to easily wire into a box. The specs are: 150W Max. Par-38, 3RSW, it meets 2008 NEC..The threads are smooth and seat into the outlet box tightly. This is a well made metal outdoor lamp holder, it is reasonably priced and I will buy it again.
