I use these for my shoeing area and my wash bay. They adjust easily and hold study. The quick release is a nice feature.

We needed adjustable cross ties with a safety snap at one end and a strong trigger snap to attach to the horse. These do the trick! The adjustable part leaves an open loop of nylon within reach of the horse's mouth, so we had to duct tape it closed after adjusting the length so the mouthy ones couldn't get caught. Design would be better if the snaps were reversed on the nylon.

Easy to install, well made, and gentle on the horses. I'm not a huge fan of cross ties, but our stables came with chains that had no give and if they snapped could hurt our horses. We have two tack-up areas and one washing stall with different widths and these cross ties worked perfectly. I love the way the nylon gives a little. I still prefer a blocker tie ring with my lead rope when saddling my horse but there are times when cross ties provide a little more control.

They're cross ties...I bought them because they have trigger snaps instead of bull snaps...the first horse who pulled back on them, the snaps broke instead of the twine at the top, normally used for "breakaway" so they aren't the most durable metal, but the trigger snaps are so much easier to use than bull snaps.
