About this item

  • Catalytic Carbon: This media is made from high quality coconut shells that are activated by steam and acid washed to create a highly porous and reactive surface. It can effectively remove chlorine, chloramine, iron, sulfur, benzene, and other contaminants from water.
  • Water Purification: This media is ideal for water filter applications such as cartridge manufacturing, point-of-entry canister filters, backwashing filters, and ultra-pure water systems. It can improve the taste, odor, color, and turbidity of water for potable, beverage, kidney dialysis, and hemodialysis use.
  • High Capacity: This media has a high adsorption capacity and efficiency, as well as a high mechanical hardness and chemical stability. It can handle high flow rates and last longer than regular carbon media. It can also be reused by backwashing and regenerating with water and air.
  • Neutral pH: This media has a neutral pH and does not alter the pH of water. It is compatible with most water treatment equipment and does not leach harmful substances into water.
  • WECO Quality: This media is manufactured by WECO, a trusted brand in water filtration products. It is made from select grade coconut shells and bituminous coal, and undergoes rigorous quality control and testing.

Drinking Water Filters

Employ our carbon for drinking water filter applications to enhance taste and odor, effectively eliminate or reduce chlorine and chloramine chemicals present in city water, as added by municipal water treatment companies, and diminish organics and other substances found in well water.

Canister Systems

Granular activated carbon finds application in whole-house point-of-entry canister filters, effectively enhancing the taste and odor of water, as well as reducing chlorine/chloramine levels in city water and removing organics from well water.

IN OUT Filters

Higher flow rates can be achieved by using larger volume mineral tanks filled up to specs with granular activated carbon. Reduces offensive taste and odor problems in well and municipal water.

Backwash Filters

Reuse the carbon over and over by utilizing mineral tanks with backwashing control valves.

Properly sized carbon vessels can treat chlorine, chloramine, benzene, hydrogen sulfide (H2S), heavy metals and more contaminants in water.

I have been making my own charcoal filter for a long time. It is very difficult to find good charcoal. Tested this charcoal on very dirty raw well water and this product filtered the best ever. Very cost effective and very good product.

This is a great buy for Coconut Shell Catalytic Activated Carbon. Ordered to NY, shipped from CA and arrived within a week via FedEx. This is a replacement for the far more expensive AquaSorb® CX-MCA. I use it in my whole house backwashing filter to clean up high iron content (plus other nasties) common to the Long Island aquifer. By the way, you can reactivate catalytic carbon by baking it in your oven at high heat.
