This product is a nice variety of wood pieces that are soft enough for a 10-year-old to carve. It's great set to get started with a tangible, creative hobby. I can't wait to see what my kid comes up with next.

We have a laser cutter machine and I've been wanting to do some wood carving work. I decided to find some wood blocks to get this started. After searching I found this 26PCS Basswood carving blocks and based on the presentation and details, this would be the right type of wood to do this carving/stenciling.This kit actually offers a total of four different sizes, which was another factor I considered. Now that I have these wood blocks home, the fun begins. I have started just one- and it's not even close to completion. Definitely taking my time to do this and having such great wood pieces helps immensely. Therefore, based on a positive experience- I would recommend this to other consumers. These blocks are made of basswood, which is a great "soft" wood for beginners to start out with. I myself am fairly new to wood carving and whittling, and I was looking for something simple to start with and materials to practice with - so this set is perfect for just that! There are 4 different sizes of blocks, so there is a little bit of variety to pick from, which I appreciated.

Basswood is the best wood for carving and whittling, and this is a nice assortment of blocks for that purpose. The only downside is coming up with ideas for what to carve out of all of them, it will take me a while to get through them all, but that's a good downside. Recommended.

This is a great assortment of wood blocks for wood carving. I have recently started carving wood and this set is perfect for practicing. The wood cuts fairly easy. There are several different sizes for all types of projects.

A family member likes to carve things. He's an amateur, but is getting good. The wood he uses is hard, though. These blocks are softer and more receptive to finer details. There are multiple sizes included. The packaging is excellent, and the blocks completely filled the box they came in. I hope we have time to get to carving before it starts getting crazy with end of school stuff around here. Will update if anything cool comes of it!
