I am a beginner welder and these were perfect to practice on. The 1/8" steel is great for learning.

These are pieces that have different spaces between each to practice welding but joints or you can separate them and make dice. Almost too small when broken up to use a magnetite to hold in place.

This is a very fun way to practice your welds. I really like these types of kits to help with learning how to better tie in your corners . But besides that this is a good way to learn to run beads and even do some out of position welds and the best part is at the end of it you have a neat pepper weight or something to customize into something new altogether. I definitely would reccomend these kits especially for hobby welders and beginners.

These welded up fairly nicely, the one die with the dots is preformed in a bendable sheet, the other with the numbers had to be broke apart and tacked then welded together. This took a bit more to figure out how to position the faces right and then how to orient the numbers. Sort of would have rather seen as two separate preformed sheets or atleast if do this way make some diagram of how the other should go together.

This arrives as a flat sheet with corner protectors shipped in an envelope. From this sheet, you can make 2 items, a cube/die with holes on it (1-6 holes) and a cube/die with numbers cut out of the sides (1-6).The one with the holes can potentially be folded into shape before welding. The numbered one will be separate pieces cut from the sheet that need to be positioned and arranged.Just tack it and leave it? Weld a full bead on every seam? TIG? MIG? Stick? (LOL). It's up to you. When you're done you'll have a cool paper weight or maybe a dangerous way to roll your next turn in Monopoly.

I quite like this practice kit. It comes as a flat sheet and the sharp edges are protected by plastic covers.Mine arrived a little bent from being flat-shipped but I was able to bend it back into shape pretty easily. You can make two dice out of this. The pieces with numbers need to be completely removed and are the more complex die to assemble because you will need to use clamps and machinist squares or similar tooling for alignment. The numbered sides were easy enough to separate using pliers and a little twisting.I started with the dotted portion because it folds up into a rough square. I am not going to show my results because the last time I welded was doing stick welding in high school shop class around 30 years ago. Suffice to say that that knowledge and skill does not easily translate to mig welding, lol.Let me just say that if you are a beginning welder like me, you need something to practice on and I think this is a great option at a good price.

I have taken up welding recently to add another dimension to my woodworking/fabrication. As I am learning my welds as well as penetration, this practice project gives me a lot practice in all those aspects that I end up with a neat little end product. I like the die more than the number set, but that is just my preference.I am able to practice horizontal, vertical, inside and outside welds. The thickness of the metal is good that it allows me to focus on my puddle with good penetration. The metal cleans up with no problem and was very enjoyable to work with.Definitely recommend as a project for a beginner like myself or even an advanced welder to show off their skills.

A little thinner than the 1/8" advertised, but it was a great practice project for a newbie welder. And in the end, I got a couple interesting paperweights to remember my beginnings.
