I was actually looking for parts to fix one and stumbled across this one for $70. Yup.. no brainer as it was going to cost 70ish for a thermostat, EC234 and barrel nut.

I replaced my older unit with this old stock new unit. The cord is much more flexible than old one. This unit heats up fast and the tip doesn't deform when heated over and over. The one I replaced had the screws broken loose, but was over a decade old. These are pricey, but I have been using as my go to solder gun for several years now.

The unit was made for a different edition of the soldering station than I own, but I can ignore the poorly adapted locking knob and plug it in just fine. Just cannot put tension on the cable or it will fall out.

I bought this as a replacement pencil for my WTCPN......now failed, won't heat, appears to be burnt out. Bought April, failed in September.
