From the Manufacturer

Westbrass was founded in 1935 by two brothers, to serve the needs of all plumbing wholesalers on the West Coast. The product lines at the time included items such as faucets, valves, malleable fittings, etc. After becoming the premier distributor of plumbing products, the company was bought in 1985 by Max Homami. Seeing a boom in the Home Improvement Industry, Mr. Homami had a vision to make Westbrass the leader in Kitchen & Bath Accessories.

The company currently manufactures its own products made of the highest quality materials. In order to ensure the excellence in the industry, these products are made to pass the highly stringent requirements of NSF, IAPMO, ADA and many other regulations. The Los Angeles-based company now sells a wide range of Plumbing Specialty Products, Bath Waste & Overflows, as well as Decorative Kitchen & Bath Accessories worldwide.

Westbrass holds several patented items including the Deep Soak Overflow designed for extra-deep soaking in most bathing-wells, the Closing Linear overflow and several other intellectual properties. The customer base includes kitchen & bath showrooms, plumbing wholesalers and supply houses, OEM and ODM companies, as well as several national home centers.

Ordered this twice each time the drain stopped working and all the water slowly drains out.

Purchased and returned the "equivalent" units from the big box stores. Faceplate quality was garbage, super thin metal, and flimsy pipe. This unit was far superior. Finish quality on the metal components was excellent, the mechanical parts are robust. You need to measure twice, cut once during install as it is completely non adjustable afterward. But that is par for the course on quality plumbing components like this.

Much better than the pre-made flimsy kits you get from your local box store. Thick as standard schedule 40 and worth the money.

The drain “T” allows vertical or horizontal discharge. Well built kit.

Excellent quality for the price. We'll see how the chrome finishes hold up. People are posting negative reviews because this is a glue-up vs. a slip joint connector, seems like a lot of user error for this product. Yes, you need to glue it up. Yes, you may need to cut some PVC to fine tune it. Yes, once it's glued it had better be correct. But building codes require these in spaces without easy access, since slip joints will loosen and leak over time. It's a smart choice if it's going in a crawl space or 2nd floor vs. a basement - an access door for a 2nd floor tub will not give you access to really repair a slip joint setup, and a 2nd floor tub leak can be a disaster.Want some install tips? Purchase a proper, glue-up trap and have it handy. Clean the openings where the overflow and drain go (back and bottom of tub, not the nice shiny interior), scrape off any old gasket material, maybe give it a wipe with some 220 sandpaper. Get a tub drain wrench, they're like ten bucks or less. You need two people. Install the drain with one person under the tub holding the drain and gasket flush, and one person in the tub, screwing in the drain - don't forget putty (some use silicone). Then do the same thing with the overflow plate and make sure the tapered gasket is oriented correctly - it's a (euphemism for a female mutt) to try to do this yourself. Assemble the other components and see if you need any shorter or longer pipes. Cut and glue it up. It can be tough to get enough space to do all this gluing with the trap and drain locked in place; (you can loosen them a tiny bit but too loose and their angles will shift); you can use a Fernco (rubber connector) for the overflow pipe to the downpipe if you can't nail this; the overflow isn't a lot of water pressure and likely isn't used as much as the drain. That's not pro-level plumbing but it will get it installed if you mess up with the PVC. Probably not to code though!Glue up the trap and do the final connection to the tub's drain line. Run the tub and check for leaks. Have someone with a big pitcher of water dump it down the overflow, and check the overflow for leaks. Splash the water all around the overflow to make sure the entire thing is sealed. Screw in the popup drain and make sure the tub holds water. You're done.

I did have to make the whole in the tub just a little bigger for this to fit correctly.

Recently tore out the bathtub in our house and installed this with a MAAX cocoon 30x60 soaking tub. The finish on both pieces is exceptional as well as scratch resistant. The tub seal is easy to push down by hand or foot to fill up the tub. I’d recommend this product for easy install and appearance.
