I consider myself to be mechanically inclined and so my evaluation of this pencil sharpener is such: it works just fine. For the price, the product is an excellent choice giving you a small desktop footprint, ease of use and quality sharpening. I sharpened (3) pencils within minutes of my receiving it and putting batteries in. I'm a satisfied customer.

This sharpener does not sharpen the tips smoothly and it does the thing where the lead falls out as soon as you use it. It is also difficult to put the sharpener back together after cleaning the shavings. I could not get the sharpener to work properly after emptying it out the first time.

This fits in small space in a low profile drawer at my desk. WOW does it do proper job fast! sharpens evenly and accurately so pencils don't snap right away like other sharpeners I have tried. Empties easily, no mess, space efficient, low cost=great value! Immediately bought 2 more for other areas of house.
