Mouthpiece was sweet iron, not aluminum as pictured, and the whole bit is cheaply made. Ok for schooling, definitely not a show bit

My mare goes so quiet in this bit. With a low port she was gaping her mouth and pulling(only bit I had till this one came). She is so different with this bit on. And more than pretty enough to show in.

I ordered this bit because I wanted something a little nicer for show season. It met all of my expectations. The carving is deep and visible from a distance, but the thing I liked best is that the bit was so light weight. The shanks are aluminum, but thick and sturdy, and the port has small sections of copper on the side that the horses tongue is up against. I love it!
