Our WF-8900 Series has been the RV industry’s preferred power center for years, and now offers a Lithium Switch option with the WF-8945LiS! The Lithium Switch allows customers the versatility to change charging modes between lead-acid and lithium batteries by simply sliding a switch. Easy to use, the WF-8945LiS provides a convenient, long-term option that eliminates the hassle of swapping out a whole unit. Designed to take advantage of installation codes, which allow 30 Amp service and 6 branch circuits, this product has more circuits than most products available in its class. FCC Class B compliance for every power center model means that the units are designed not to cause interference with televisions, radios, or other signals. Electronic current limiting automatically shuts down the power during overload or short-circuit conditions, protecting the life of your power center and electrical system.

Buyer beware, there are a lot of counterfeit versions of these all over the internet. Also, when I emailed WFCO regarding the automatic switching version that I had purchased from another online source I found out that they discontinued this manual switching version a year or two ago. The auto-switching version is the current version. And the one I purchased here on Amazon is the real deal, not a counterfeit. This is very easy to install and so far is working perfectly. Nice to be able to use my 250ah LiFePo battery in my camper now.

Used this to upgrade the converter in our camper for charging lithium batteries. Fairly easy to install, just a lot of wires to move over from the old converter, probably 2 minutes to move the wires.

Upgraded to this converter after switching to lithium batteries in the camper. Getting about 25 charging amps which is pretty good. The downside is the cooling fan is pretty loud when its putting out that much power.

To charge Lithium batteries you may need to upgrade your RV Power Center. Buy only Original Parts manufactured by WFCO. Manual switch version is no longer manufactured by WFCO. Replaced by Auto Detect version. May only order version with manual switch while supplies last. This is the Replacement charger assembly with Manual switch for charging lead acid or lithium batteries in WF-8955PEC power center. Includes lower charger portion and new DC Fuse board. Must replace both with this manual version. You do not need to replace the DC Fuse board if you use the new Auto Detect version. I chose the manual version because some have said they had trouble with the Auto Detect version not recognizing the battery type. I spoke to WFCO and they told me that you should start the first charging cycle of a Lithium battery that is depleted and in need of a charge. It will then be able automatically determine battery type. I chose manual version to eliminate that potential issue but it is a little more work to have to replace the DC Fuse board too. The mod is straight forward and not too difficult if you take your time. Take pictures before you begin so you can reference if needed. I took pictures and also labeled my DC wires 1-11 to keep them in same order as you move them to the new DC Fuse Board. Honestly the most difficult part is routing the wires in a way to get them all to fit back behind the new DC Fuse board. Do this right and torque all connections with an inch/lb torque wrench. Electrical connections must be tight but not too tight,WFCO torque specs. https://www.wfcotech.com/support/torque-chartDon't forget to move the switch to LithiumIF YOU DO NOT FEEL COMFORTABLE PAY A PROFESSIONAL TO DO IT FOR YOU.

Alright, this was an intimidating swap. I had the WFCO unit that didn't support LiFePO4 (Lipo) batteries, and at best, I'd reach 60% charge, but typically it stopped around 25%. I'd be dry camping and need to fire up the generator which would keep the lights on, but 25% never got us through to morning. The swap was long and tedious but actually not that difficult. The case fit the new board and converter both without issue. The biggest challenges were 1) the battery cable mounts are at different angles from the original and 2) keeping the circuit wires straight. But I unhooked one wire and fuse at a time and installed it to the lose board and then slipped out the old board and clicked in the new one. This is 100% a DIY capable swap, if you've got strong enough fingers and a lot of patience. We put in a Redodo 12V 200Ah PLUS Lithium LiFePO4 and a Renogy 40A MPPT solar charger, they work together swimmingly.

I bought this replacement 12 volt converter for our used 2009 5th wheel RV when I replaced the very heavy 6 volt pair of batteries, and replaced with a 200AH Lithium battery. The old charger had no lithium charging algorithm. Lead acid batteries are OK, but need constant maintenance, cleaning and refilling the wet cells. And they are very very heavy. The install went fine, taking my time to make sure all lugs were tight. I don't use this converter as much, as we have a 600 watt solar array on the roof, that keeps things charged up. But sometimes we get a stretch of rainy cloudy weather, and have need to turn on the charger without battery issues.

I have yet to install and test it, but shipping was fast and item does not appear to have been damaged in transport. Looking forward to testing it out. IMHO, this (with a manual toggle switch) is a much better alternative to the AD (auto-detect) version that appears to be very difficult to operate.

Fast delivery and an easy install. The original had a bad solder joint on the back of the board. Kept it as a backup after fixing.
