I mounted this on my center console. I did not use the cheaper hardware included, instead I drilled the mounting holes to 5/16 and use quality bolts. It fits well and feels sturdy. The platform is plastic, not fiberglass, but that does seem to matter. Hard to beat for the price. The way my tie down hooks are, the ladder doesn't fully lay down on the platform. But, that does allow me to attach with a bungie.
