Wheeler's Bore Lapping Compounds are available in three grits: 220, 320, and 600. This combination of lapping grits allows for cutting (220), smoothing (320), and polishing (600) your firearm's bore. The compound is useful for a variety of applications including lapping bores, bolt faces, and bolt lugs. When lapping a bore, pressure will likely increase with grit impregnated bullets. Due to the likely increase of pressure, light loads are recommended. Five shot strings up to a maximum of twenty shots of each grit are recommended. Use progressively finer grits to reach a significantly smoother bore. Each 1 oz jar includes high-quality silicon carbide abrasive paste.

Easy to use. Like the quality finish that it leaves. Handy for lapping mating metal to metal parts for a good seal. Works great on valve seats!

on the cap says: "stir if separated". Should add what to do is all dried up!

JB's bore paste always left a somewhat dull finish after use.The Wheelers compound polished the bore of my rifle to a mirror finish in 30 strokes.Rifle bore copper fouling now less than 50% of what it used to be.

Needed a good lapping paste as I was having issues with my chamber being too tight. About a half hour of polishing and got everything to mate together as it should. Saved me a good bit of money and works as described.

One of the bronze tapered cone seacocks needed to be reconditioned. This valve lapping compound worked perfectly for smoothing out the surfaces in one of my essential seacocks.Highly recommended for this type of job.
