It all was good. My only issue was that it was missing a gasket. I texted the company but they did not get back to me. I ended up using the old gasket off of the broken disposal. It seems to be working ok.

Well, my 17 year old Whirlpool garbage disposal finally died. I wanted to buy the exact same model so that I could replace it myself and avoid having to redo the plumbing connections. This GC1000PE actually reads as model GC1000PE4 on the plate, and my old one read GC1000PE2. So if this is your situation, don’t worry, this model is the exact same size and openings configuration. It comes with a power cord which is 31” long and a 3 prong plug (same as my old one). Also included are a set detailed installation instructions, the fittings you see in the attached pics, and an Allen key/wrench. Since it was an identical replacement, it was super easy to do myself and I was done in less than 30 minutes.Pro Tip: If you’re installing it yourself and you have a dishwasher connection, don’t forget remove the drain plug as per the instructions (or your dishwasher won’t be able to drain).Whirlpool is a reputable brand and I can definitely say that this garbage disposal lives up to that reputation. I’m very happy with it and can recommend it.

This was an exact model replacement. Tip: you probably don’t have to replace the mounting flange. That’s the assembly that fits into the sink, where underneath is the part the disposal screws on to. That assembly is a slight pain to assemble, but you can probably reuse it.

We just replaced our 13 year old Whirlpool GC1000 with this new unit, because the old one began to leak. Since the prior unit was the same as the new one, my husband was able to leave the existing drain in the sink and just replace the machinery - much easier. Also, we were lucky enough to have a plug previously installed under our sink, so the new unit only had to be plugged in after the new disposal was attached. The only difficult part was getting the old disposal out - took a few bangs with a 5 pound mallet, but it finally gave way. We were very happy with our previous Whirlpool GC1000 and expect many years of good service from the new disposal.

It was easy to install. I had the same model installed before it went bad after 9 plus yrs. I did not change the sink flange because exiting one was in decent shape and was not leaking etc.It does come with power card. I had to take it out and use the old one because it was little short to reach under the sink power outlet. Taking the power card out was little work, but installing the disposal only took 1/2 hr. You can do it yourself and save yourself $200.
