While i wasnt crazy about how this item shipped, it ultimately worked great. The box and packing were somewhat falling apart when it arrived and i was a little worried it might be damaged. I unscrewed and unwired the existing maker and put the new one in its place. as soon as i plugged it in it immediately filled with water. I screwed up a little and didnt put the on/off flap into the right hole so ice started backing up, but i figured that out pretty quick and its been GREAT. ice is nice and dry and doesnt clump up. its pooping out ice rapid fire and the dispenser hasnt clogged - been very reliable so far. Great price, easy fix.

My ice maker was making weird shaped ice and constantly jamming up. I wasn’t going to buy a new fridge or pay a ton to get it repaired. It seems to be a design flaw. This is a OEM part. I watched a few videos on install and it was painless and pretty quick. Now I have ice when I need it and didn’t cost me an arm and a leg.

Worked fine for a few weeks. Then the ice tray is getting overflowed with water. Requested a replacement unit, which the seller quickly sent

For a few months it worked great. However after a few months started having issues again and ice production stopped. Same terrible design as the original so I guess it's to be expected. Not covered under whirlpools warranty sigh.

This is a drop in replacement for the OEM version for about a third of the cost. The part arrived intact as it was well packaged. I found it to be very dirty though. There was some sort of grease in the tray that attracted dirt. I had to wash it with Dawn dish soap and a toothbrush to clean it. It installed easily. I threw away the first day’s production. Also the fill potentiometer was adjusted perfectly. After about a week, it seems to be working fine. Only time will tell if it has a long or short life.Follow-Up October 26, 2023- It crapped out around October 23-24. Completely out of ice in the 25th. I guess they’re not particularly reliable.Second follow-up. I received a warranty ice maker and am sipping cold lemonade. Thanks for the customer care.

This review will detail utilizing this replacement part in a whirlpool WRX735SDHZ01 French door style refrigerator. We had been experiencing a clicking sound followed by a frozen ice make for a few months. After pulling out the entire ice maker unit, I saw that we had damage in the ice maker assembly. After getting a quote for a $700 fix, I decided to roll the dice in this product. I found that it worked perfectly and only took about 30 minutes to install. Begin by removing the arm from the fill cup and side. Keep it because you will need it. Next, disconnect wiring. One is under the front white cap and the other is plugged into th bottom left (see pic) you will also need to unclip the wiring from the underside. Tilt the entire housing on an end and unscrew the three machine screws from the underside. The assembly should now be free and you can throw that bad boy away. Basically follow those steps in reverse to install the new assembly. In the final step, you will reinsert the arm on the side. Note that it will likely install with the arm in the “up” position. I got worried at this point because it would not go down. Do NOT force the arm down. Go ahead and replace the entire unit back into the slot and wire it back in. When the assembly gets power, the gear rotates and the arm drops! We had the unit filling with water within a few minutes and a full ice tray overnight! This product works perfectly to replace this fridges part.Hope this helps!
