Bought this about a year ago. Had issues with the dishwasher where it would wash well one day and bad the next three… decided to go all in and change this whole part and it has been working great!!Easy to install yourself, just with a YouTube video :-)

Whirlpool is the OEM of many other manufacturers that reskin their dishwashers. I have the KitchenAid kdte104ess1 and this works effectively as a replacement. My issue was that rinse cycles and drainage worked, but the wash cycle didn't consistently - the tablet never dissolved, the spray arms didn't activate during wash cycle and dishes weren't cleaned. It would work sometimes on ProWash, Express Wash or other cycles, then every 2 cycles. I searched reddit and found that this was the best solution for the problem.Search for videos on instructions to install, it takes about 90m, not too difficult. Do not rush or break any of the tabs as you will reuse some of the parts. Make sure you take a photo before you take it apart, so you know what it should look like.My dishwasher wires were routed a bit different. I've attached the underside before installation so you can see if it matches yours.Dishes are clean and it works as well as new! Will update if there are any changes in the next couple of months.

Dishwasher was only rinsing and not washing. Replaced the assembly, works on all cycles again.

Do your symptoms sound similar to mine? If so, buy this part and replace it on your unit.SYMPTOMS:- Initially, some cycles (pro for instance) would fill, sit, drain. A few open/closes of the door and the wash cycle would kick in.- Eventually, the wash cycle just never started. The pump noise made it obvious that a wash cycle was in progress, and that just stopped. Clicking could be heard as it went through the full cycle, and timing was the same as if nothing was wrong.THE FIX:- Originally, though it was the diverter motor (white box, controls spray going to bottom and top water distributors) going bad. That part was 20$ here, but reviews of the parts available to replace it left me feeling like it would leak if I just replaced that part. I wasn't even sure if that was ultimately the issue because all connections on my multi-meter showed normal.- I settled on replacing the whole assembly. You MUST make sure it is a genuine part, or you will regret it. I am glad I did, because it solved the issue and likely ensured a longer life for the unit because parts aren't various ages.- I DO believe it was the wash pump simply going bad. Replacing just that would have been a nightmare leading to leaks because it is tightly integrated. Just replace it all for $200 and avoid replacing your whole flooring and wash unit all together.NOTES:- It took me 2 hours start to cleanup to do this. Get a pass from the wife and settle in.- It does NOT contain the drain motor, so don't lose that as you will have to transfer it over to the new unit.- DO get some food grade silicone to apply to the basin as it goes in. The rubber will last longer and the seal will be much more water tight.- Take your time, plenty of help on Youtube is there, and it isn't hard. Don't break tabs, be gentle and patient.- DO take pictures of the underside of the washer in detail before and during your progress. You will be thankful to know that X wire routed via ABC path under the unit. Trust me.- Lots of towels and water/power off to the unit.

Spent the money a few years ago and installed a Whirlpool Gold dishwasher. Have had a love hate relationship with this dishwasher the whole time. Like the features and the overall design but has been unreliable and all plastic parts are cheaply made. Replaced a leaking seal a year ago. Started leaking on our hardwood floors again recently. Replace seal again. Still dripping. Ready to get rid of this machine but read reviews about replacing whole pump motor assembly. Decided to risk it one more time. Ordered this unit and installed it. Took a little over an hour. What a difference. No leaks. Fit perfect. Machine has never cleaned so well. Should have replaced it sooner.

Great product and seller. Our Whirlpool dishwasher was washing poorly - spray motor not running at start up, weak spray, no spray on the top rack, and dirty dishes. Decided to purchase and DIY replace the entire sump pump assembly and now I feel like I have a brand new dishwasher! Saved me a lot of money versus replacing dishwasher with a new comparable model at $800+.
