So far, I have used these to repair a loose gate latch. While the instructions say to snap off to the appropriate length, I found this impossible to do. I ended up needing to use serrated knife. While the repair is mostly holding for now, it is getting slightly wiggly. I get the sense that this solution may be better used on something that’s going to be stationary. I think all the wiggling back-and-forth of a latch is gonna cause this to become looser over time. Next time I may add a little glue.

Over time, turning the water on and off, the facet on the outside of my house has become loose and can pull away from the house a little. I have tried a number of solutions but none has keep it securely in place so I thought I'd try these wood anchors. I wish I could put more of the anchor's length inside the hole behind the facet but it seems to have worked for now. I'll see how it goes over time.

I used to repair holes with wood glue and packing in toothpicks, then cutting them off after drying. These are a lot faster and simpler remedy to the same problem. They work well and are useful to have around. Recommended.

To test the Haespot Stripped Screw Hole Repair Anchor, I drilled a hole too large for a #8 wood screw.Using the slotted end of the Anchor, I pushed and twisted it into the hole and cut it flush. The wood screw was then screwed into the repair hole and held strong, probably stronger than if it were wood alone.I was also able to remove the screw, and the repair anchor stayed in place. These are excellent for recovering from my many mistakes, and I'm sure the 12 that came in this kit will soon need to be replenished!

The anchors worked much better than I thought they would. I use them mostly for stripped out holes for door hinges. I tap them in with my hammer and cut off the excess with my utility knife. The stripped hole is now ready for the hinge screw. I haven't had any of them fail to hold. I like these anchors.
