So far it's been working perfectly!, it got down to the negative temps (-2°F) a few weeks ago , the furnace was literally turning on and off every 15 mins! ( 1950's house with original wooden windows, so kinda drafty in the winter )This is the second season that it has been used, and no issues! I like how easy it was to install, fit in the same location as the last one with minor work, and wired up easily which saved me quite a bit of $$$ and time being able to install it myself!I like that it operates better than the last 10 yr old control unit that literally burned up ( circuit board caught fire 😬)The start up , and shut down timimg on this controller are calibrated much better , now my furnace doesn't overheat anymore! The old controller would sometimes shut the blower down too early, not allowing the fire box to cool properly causing the high limit switch to trip occasionally🙄, so no heat for hours until I reset it 🥶...

This is a "universal" replacement control module. There were several installation issues that you will need to overcome. First, the mounting hole locations are not the same as the original control module. Second, in order for the multiwire connector harnesses to reach their mating connectors you will need the mount the control module upside down (with the thermostat screws towards the top). That makes connecting the thermostat wires extremely difficult. And lastly, if you have an older HVAC system, like mine, that does not have wires connected to RO1 and RO2 on the large multiwire harness connector you will need to install a jumper wire provided in the kit. Without this jumper the module does not even power up! Check this before you start the return process.

New control was easy to install & wire, took me less than an hour. It came with the jumper needed for RO1 to RO2 on the 12 pin connector, and extension jumpers which I didn't need in my Trane xe80 furnace. Original controller was a 50A50-473, CNT 2182. New controller works properly, but lacks the "heartbeat" flashing light feature to indicate readiness, and the faster flash to indicate a call for heat.As others have noted, one may have to drill new mounting holes for the control. I did, and used some self-drilling screws that came with it. If you do the same, don't let chips from the fasteners drop down inside the back of the control. Photo is of what fell from drilling 4 holes.I got a lot of benefit before purchasing this by reading other's reviews, hope this info will help someone else with an inoperable furnace during heating season.

I have a York Diamond 80 furnace. Yesterday, fan keeps running until powered off. This replaces the old one 50A50-230, which was longer. I used two top holes to attach the new board and left it hanging like that. The whole process took me 5 hours due to the awkward positioning of the furnace.I do not need to use the provided jumper like some reviewers mentioned. The extension wires are not useful to me because of the caliber is too large for two connectors to the transformer that I want to move. I ended up installing the transformer in the original place, which caused the wire to be cramped. The new board positioned wires in the flip side of the old board, which caused a lot of my headache. Despite all that, the HVAC now works.

The 50A55-843 is a "universal direct plug-in replacement" for the WHITE-ROGERS Emerson Elec. Co. 50A50-241 furnace controller board. The product came in an OEM box, wrapped in an antistatic bag, and connection headers with wire leads and end-connectors (not used to replace the furnace controller board). After downloading the installation instructions from the internet for the 50A55-843, I reviewed the heat cycles and confirmed that this was a "universal replacement" for multiple furnace controller boards including my York 95 furnace controller board, the 50A50-241. I bought this product based on the comments of the "lockout codes" that others had shared in the comments where the red status indicator LED would continuously flash on/off after the start of a heat cycle and the fan would continue running continuously for the 60-minute lockout period. This would go on as long as the thermostat issued a "call for heat". If it was cold outside then it would continue until the outside temperature would warm up. Once I diagnosed that everything else was operational with the furnace control systems and pressure switch valves, I knew the 25+ year-old electronic controller board was faulty and had indeed failed. To replace the old controller board with the new controller board, I turned off the power to the furnace and then I switched the jumper wires from the old board onto the new board which was simple. After verifying that all the wires were completely transferred from the old to the new one, I then turned on the furnace afterwards and the "call for heat" cycle began as normal from my thermostat. After the "call for heat" cycle stopped, the motor stopped running and turned off after 3 minutes according to the specifications. It was perfect! I had to drill two holes for the existing self-tapping screws because the enclosure for the furnace controller board was shorter than the older controller board. I simply reused the self-tapping screws and it was perfectly secured in the same position as the old board, including the LED status light location for viewing through the clear window on the furnace metal blower door that also houses the electronics and wiring for the furnace. This is an excellent product and an exact drop-in replacement for my old furnace controller board (old = 50A50-241 ==>> new = 50A55-843).Before purchasing, confirm that your old or existing faulty or failed furnace controller board is on the universal product replacement list. Mine was on the list so it was an exact drop-in replacement.I hope you found this review helpful in making the right purchase decision for you and your situation.I also have an electronics engineering background and used to work in HVAC a long time ago.

Replaced old model 50a50-473 with this model and was fairly easy to install. Labelled all wires on old unit before removing to facilitate reconnecting. Works great. I did need the provided jumper from R0 to R1.

I recently purchased the White Rogers 50A55-843 to replace my 50A50-405. I have an American Standard 90 HVAC system that was old when I bought the house. Problem was that the fan kept running after the house reached the correct temp. The constantly running fan caused the humidity to jump in the house. At first, I had to turn off power to the furnace to get the fan to stop. After much troubleshooting, I narrowed it down to the furnace controller unit - 50A50-405. By giving it a good whack with the back of my screwdriver, the fan stopped running and everything worked fine, for a while. Problem kept repeating so I bought the new board - 50A55-843 - and the best price was here on Amazon. From mixed reviews, I wasn't sure if this was the correct unit, but IT WAS!I did have a couple of problems with installation - most of my own doing! First, I didn't replace until the attic was hot. Second, I didn't check available wire lengths before bolting down new unit. I had to move it so that all the wires reached (I did used the supplied jumpers for 3 of the wires). After finishing all of the connections (not very hard as the connection points all have the same names) I turned on the power and immediately got an error code on the blinking led - 5 flashes - meaning "Open Rollout switch" (per the directions) and I had to reset the flame rollout sensor switch. WHAT?!?!?Then I went to the internet and did a search on how to reset the flame rollout sensor switch. Nice You Tube video explained that the controller sent out 24v and wanted to see 24v back to make sure this safety switch was working corectly. The directions that came with the unit showed which pins on the 12 pin connector block were used - RO1 and RO2. Back to the furnace to see if I had a loose wire or bad switch. Guess what - no wires were attached to the furnace side of this connector at RO1 and RO2 - so I would always get the error code I got. Back to the wires that came with the new controller and there was one jumper (according to the directions to be used with a Trane unit) that fit into the 12 pin connector and reached from RO1 to RO2 (they just snap into place). Turned the power back on to the furnace and everything works PERFECTLY!!!! No error codes and fan shuts off after the room hit the correct AC temp (the fan does run for 45 sec. after cooling per the directions and a factory set switch). All operations normal, wife is happy, and I saved a bundle of money - all in all, a good day!Be sure to check wiring lengths before mounting unit and double chek furnace 12 pin connector for RO1 and RO2 and install supplied jumper if no wires present.Hope this helps...
