I almost feel like I got a used/reconditioned bit. The packaging was taped together and there were marks on the bit that you don't normally see on a new bit. Other than that it works great, much better than the cheap ones I've been buying. I ruined the motor in my router and had to replace the armature and I'm attributing that to the crappy bits I was using...or I just asked too much for my little router. Anyway, these Whiteside bits seem to be high quality bits, not nearly as much tear out in the plywood with this one. I will be buying more of this brand.
