I like this basket and it works fairly well for hiding cords, but I wish it had an opening in the front.

We live in an old house so there aren't as many convenient electrical outlets as we need. Consequently we've had to use a few power strips and they can be ugly when they can't be tucked behind something. This basket comes to the rescue. It is very pretty and does the trick of hiding the power strip along with some cords that are longer than needed.

It is hiding 4 plugs…3 large adapters for my electric sofa and one regular plug in. Love it! I think it works great! And goes with my boho aesthetic.

I thought maybe the box would be too small but all my wires/cables fit in. Looks good too!

Having a background in electronics I’m used to a tangled rats nest of wires as being normal. Okay that’s at work. At home I like to live in a neater more organized setting. So I have bought several different styles of cable management boxes and devices and it seems there are a lot of them. This one is different, really different. I’ve never seen one made of wicker, it looks like one of those fishing creels I see in old movies. So I wondered why, but I didn’t wonder too long, I ordered one because I had a real life mess to deal with.WHAT YOU GETThe entire thing consists of a basket made from woven weeds, similar to a wicker basket. It is larger than most cable management boxes I’ve seen but sometimes that can be a good thing. What’s unique about this basket is that it has a oval opening in the back to insert a length of cable that can be neatly coiled inside like a cobra. I wonder if that’s where they got the idea to make it from woven reeds. There are also slits on both ends so a length of cable can be passed through, and coiled up inside. There’s plenty of room for a 50’ length of TV antenna for example, precisely what I needed it for. The lid is woven separately and attached by two ring hinges that are either plastic or bone. I like that idea because the top can be opened an infinite number of times without wearing out a hinge made of reeds.QUALITY OF CONSTRUCTIONThey say these are woven by hand, that’s easy to believe. Machines could probably easily do it but this has the slight imperfections that come with something made by hand. The ring hinges are strong and even with a length of TV cable inside the box doesn’t bulge at the sides.THINGS TO KNOWFirst up, a suggestion. I think it would be very beneficial for them to include some sort of latch, maybe a magnetic cabinet latch, to keep the lid close. As it is the basket is too tempting for the family cat to paw it open and crawl inside and I don’t like the thought of pets being exposed to electrical wires that way. Other than that my only concern is about the price which seems high for a wicker basket, very similar to one that I can get at the local crafts store for under ten bucks. But given the fact that they went to the extra effort to include very useful openings for the wires, and a ring hinge that will last a long time, I think overall the price is reasonable.YES NO MAYBEThis is a strange item, who would think a woven cable management box would be a thing. But it is just what I needed. We have a long length of TV cable that comes up from the baseboard and can’t be pushed back inside, so it has laid around for a long time. Recently we chose to move some furniture and use that wall as our TV projection surface and we no longer need the cable but we want to keep it for when we sell the house. This basket is the ideal place to bundle all that cable in a place where it is unseen and the wicket box looks like it is meant to be a room decoration. I give them an A for idea and a B for almost but not quite but it’s a close call, the end result is a five star product.
