I love this thing! I know I know it is a splurge,but it has been a life changer for me and my candles! This is so handy and useful. I love it! Quality is great and it is very cute too! I just wish it was a little cheaper or for that price they could have included the bell. Needless to say I love it and love using both the cutter and the extinguisher stick. This will also make a great gift for any candle lover.

I bought one of these myself and liked it so much I bought another two as a gift.These are great even if you use candles sparingly. It makes the candles last longer and keeps smoke from occurring.Before lighting a candle, make sure the wick is trimmed. I cut my to an 1/8 of an inch and have no issues. This will cut down on melting the wax unevenly.After you're finished, take the dipper and push the wick into the wax. This will instantly snuff the flame as well as coat the wick for the next burn. No smoke will billow out of the candle and the wax will dry evenly.Doing both of the above, trimming and dipping, will significantly help improve the life of your candle and make it more enjoyable.This set allows for that and looks good doing so! Highly recommended.

I had some doubts about spending money on this set, but a trimmed wick really does make all the difference between a sweet smelling candle and a sooty mess. And when a candle has burned past a certain point, using regular scissors is just not an option.Likewise, it helps to put out a candle with a wick dipper if you're like me and you hate the acrid smell produced when you blow out a candle and the discoloration that happens when you smother it. You could use some other instrument as a wick dipper (I was using a wooden food skewer for a while) but the shape of this really does help in retrieving the wick after it's extinguished.These are well made, attractive, and useful.

Very nice set! The tools have a slightly heavy feel--they don't feel "cheap" or like something that will break easily. The wick trimmer's blades are nice and sharp and cut wicks easily. Both pieces also have pretty scrollwork designs on them, making them feel surprisingly elegant. And, if you've never used a wick trimmer and wick dipper before for your candles (which, I never had before buying this set), I can tell you that this little change makes a huge difference in how your candles burn! No more soot on the insides of your candle glass, no more wildly flickering flames, no more smoke all over your room ruining the fragrance of your scented candles! This is a great purchase for anyone who enjoys lighting candles on a regular basis. I use it for all of my (many...) scented candles as well as to trim the wicks on my shabbat candles every week. I recommend this 100% to anyone who loves candles.

Absolutely, A MUST HAVE FOR LARGE JAR CANDLES!! I use to use a long straight scissors for trimming the wicks of a candle. Truly, nearly impossible to do with a straight scissors. I see some reviewers have complained that either this product, or similar products, do not trim the wick properly, wether tearing wick or what ever. NOT TRUE!! This wick trimmer is Awesome, does a GREAT JOB, and I would not be without it!! The Wick Dipper, I originally thought, was unnecessary to have. WRONG I WAS! The Wick Dipper is awesome as well, as it prevents candle smoking when putting out the candle! Candle smoking can really stink up a room. So, would I buy this set again, ABSOLUTELY, and I will be ordering many for gifts this year. TRULY, A PRODUCT I WOULD NOT DO WITHOUT!!!

I came across this kit while I was looking for something else and was intrigued with it. We often enjoy jar candles and found it difficult if not impossible to trim the wicks to prevent excessive smoking and extend the life of the candles. so I thought the trimmer would be very useful. I wasn't so sure about the dipper but we have found it to be very useful as well. The dipper extinguishes the flame without any smoke. It had always been our practice to blow out the flame or put the lid on the jar to extinguish the flame which worked but the former caused smoke and odor and the latter caused discoloration on the lid and remaining candle. The dipper eliminates these issues quickly and easily. We have really enjoyed these two items and plan on purchasing them as gifts for others. They are very well made and have a nice feel to them. They are quite attractive as well. We are very pleased with this purchase and would recommend this set to others. The vendor was excellent as well.

My girlfriend really liked this set, neither of us had heard of a wick dipper before and it works great(basically no smoke when you put a candle out). The candle wick trimmer seems to be pretty heavy duty and sharp. She hasn't tried cutting a wood wick yet, but it does great with regular candle wicks.You don't have to push the wick down into the wax to put it out, you can also just drag some melted wax up the wick and it will snuff the flames.
