Has good video, but not recommended for AM Scope microscopes

Documentation is incomplete, and is written in worse than "pidgin" English. Incomprehensible. The photos and illustrations are all blacked out and cannot be viewed or understood. The app, when downloaded requires significant forfeiture of privacy. I tried the app on both an Android phone and an I-Pad. It seemed to load, but was unable to connect to the camera via WiFi, Bluetooth or USB cable. The app never found the camera. When received, the package had obviously been opened previously, and probably returned. If so, that is not a good business practice. Perhaps the camera is defective, rather than a shoddy, non-functioning app. I'm through wasting time! I will buy something else for my "scope".

When I first got this camera I was happy with the images and the ease of connecting the wifi to my ipad (and phone). I got a bit confused and frustrated by the user manual, especially with regards to making time lapse photos. For some crazy reason, once you turn the time lapse on, photos will be taken at intervals only if the camera is OFF! You read that right. Once you turn off the camera, it goes into time lapse mode. So how do you know what the images look like in real time? Well, you turn the camera back on. But then time lapse stops! Doesn't that sound crazy to you? Now this is no problem in video mode. The camera shows the image in real time while it is saving to the SD mini card. What I like about it is that the videos come in 3 minutes video segments. If you record video for say 1 hour, you will have 20 mp4 files saved. I prefer that to saving one huge file for a number of reasons. The camera is pretty undestructible. I know. I tried to disassemble it, just being curious for how it mechanical works. All my attempts to disassemble the camera failed. I consider that a good feature. But the very best part of this camera is the seller's customer support. I reported some problems with my camera and the seller replaced the camera cheerfully and quickly. The seller wants happy customers. All in all, you should end up being satisfied with the quality of the images (an astounding 24Mp max resolution in photo mode) and with superior support. See the photo of the moon I took with a Meade ETX-90 90mm aperature scope a few weeks ago from my balony in an urban setting. Not bad, don't you think?

After charging it worked right out of the box. I used it with a pair of binoculars and with my telescope - and made good use of the adjustment ring. It was easy to use and the built-in wifi performed well. It care with a mini memory card.

Maybe its me but i have yet to figure out how to do longer exposures to get images if the milkyway or other dimmer objects in the sky. The moon it works fine for or (with a filter) the sun.

I've been an active amateur astronomer for 50+ years. Many people will be interested in this camera for wildlife but my prime interest is astronomy... and I've been having a ball with it. Works with any telescope, fits best on flat top eyepieces. The range of camera settings (ISO, EV+/-, resolution) means you can always find a suitable setting to get the best out of it.Edited 15May2024 - moon and sun images are straight out of the camera, no processing. Taken through a 120mm f/7.5 refractor (not the lens pictured) shortly after sunset in twilight. This is what you can expect to get with the camera.Pros:Image quality on par with best cell phones.Ease of use (ridiculously easy)Camera rotation for pleasing displayCons:Unable to wirelessly cast / mirror display to a smart TV, a cable connection is required. This would be a HUGE plus for public outreach astronomy - DISREGARDEDIT 15 February 2025- i have had success in casting to a Smart TV, no idea why I had problems previously. PLEASE NOTE -- this is not a 'Vine review of free product", I paid for this. I have no confidence in reviews from people who were provided the product for free..... and neither should you. This is a fun gizmo, I feel comfortable in recommending it completely.Wishlist:Monochrome version would be outstanding for solar observation with Ha telescopes. Larger clamp opening to fit larger eyepieces would be nice.

It's a good concept but poorly executed. The app is terrible, connection is poor. When everything works you can get decent captures of the moon and planets.
