I got these hammers to use as Halloween pass out gifts this year. I give the kids a choice between candy and hammers this year. Usually about 1/3 of the kids pick the tiem, the rest of the 2/3's pick the dandy. Anyway, these hammers are pretty good only good for looks or very light hammering duty like I might use for jewelry repair or something like that. The striking face is covered in a a thin metal but I wouldn't expect much out of that, merely there to keep the plastic face from splitting, I think. They are a pretty good size even for an adult but would be most comfortable in a kid's hand. If you are looking for a hammer for party favors, or retirement party or something like that, these would work pretty well.
