I had an old mag mount wilson 1000. I wanted to do a permanent install on my jeep xj Cherokee. I pulled the headliner and took the inside of the roof down to bare metal. With a hole in the roof I installed this mount. I’m so glad I did. I use the Wilson 1000 on the 10 meter ham bands. I’m getting into England and east coast of the US easily. Made a contact in Japan and Philippines too. I have the 857D ham radio so it’s about 100 watts SSB.

I was very nervous about drilling a hole in my roof but, the mount has been in place for over a year now and has not leaked or shown any bad signs. The signal I get is great and taking off the antenna is easy for going through the car wash. Worth the effort if you don't like having cables running all over your vehicle.

It is the original mount for the Wilson 1000 and 5000. Not much to say it just works. It has all the parts you need to drill a hole in your roof or trunk and get your wife angry forever.

When I received the product it was incomplete. I had all ready drilled a 3/4" hole in my roof by the time I realized that the order wasn't complete. It ended up costing me additional $57 that I shouldn't have been forced to pay. Since I had already drilled a hole I couldn't wait 7-10 days for the replacement parts. I tried to communicate with vendor to try a recoupe some of the $ I was forced to spend due to an incomplete order. The said the they let me have 10% off my next purchase which is unacceptable for me since I couldn't recoupe any unwarranted expenses due to no fault on my part.(limited goods) was the vendor after several emails back and forth with them I learned that (good prices don't always mean good deals)

I received the Wilson 1000 roof mount kit and as stated in previous reviews, was incomplete. Parts missing: hold down nut and washer, without it after mounting there is no way for the puck to stay on roof. Disappointed as I'm sure they know parts are missing but shipped anyway. Do not purchase this item.
