Weighs 11 lbs., but only a 6 lb. head. I will check total weight before buying from now on.The mushrooming is pronounced at only two months (see picture). It is flattening at a rate that will make it too wide for me by the time it is six months old. I only use it to split wood an hour per day, driving 7lb iron wedges through large tree stumps. The good news is that my wedges are no longer mushrooming.I would have given them four or five stars, because I love using it (for now). However, I think the 5lb handle weight should not be buried in the details. I also think they should explain that the mushrooming is cumulative (it doesn't flex back to its original shape), that it appears quickly and that this is therefore a consumable limited-life product.

Wilton makes the best sledge hammers i have ever used. I have their entire set now

If you don't feel like Thor when you swing this hammer, there is something wrong with you. I watched the video on YouTube of the Wilton product testers trying to break this hammer with everything short of tactical nuclear weapons. It stood up to the abuse that they threw at it. I haven't given it quite as much punishment, but I have used it to remove some curbing and an old patio and this hammer is simply the finest sledge I've ever used.
