I purchased a pair of these on sale, when the price wasn't hugely greater (about $8-11) than many typical lower-price clamps (e.g., "Pony", "Yost", etc.), but the quality appears greatly superior. The Wilton appears stronger and better made, with a much better screw mechanism. I expect they will be durable and last well.

I used this to squeeze 2 C-shaped commercial grade 2X6 steel studs (the thick ones with the flanges that don't nest) together and hold them while I bolted them together to make box beams. Repeatedly.Turning it by hand only, as per instructions. And I'm 150 Lbs soaking wet, with some arthritis in my hands. So if the Big Box Store ones aren't doing it for you (even craftsman), these will. Believe it.

More expensive but an investment that will last conceivably hundreds of years, unchanged by heavy use. For woodworking Or metalworking.

I needed a couple of tough c clamps. While Wilton is an excellent brand, the clamps were made in China. However, they used Wilton specs, so I expect them to be sturdy. Wilton would not be so stupid as to destroy their brand for a few dollars saved by ruining quality.

OK so I contacted Amazon about what happened and it does have a life time warranty so they sent out a replacement for it. Hopefully the replacement lasts a long time.I haven't been able to use it often but today when I did somehow some way it bent I don't recommend this at all and I can't contact them to see if they have a warranty for this.I was looking for a new c clamp that was made in the USA and I ordered this one and boy I will tell you it's so sturdy. It's way better then the ones they sell at Lowe's. This thing is so solid and beefy. You can't go wrong with this clamp. I will be putting it to the test these next 6 months and see how it does.

There is no question that Wilton still makes solid clamps and Vises. I bought this to help in a fabrication product and it is the strongest built clamp I own. I don't have to worry about this clamp at all. I have used it for a year now and it is well worth the money.
