This china Wilton is pretty much well China. I went through three and gave up, with all the inconsistency between them, i settled on the better of them, really isn't better, but the flaws that least bothered me.Two of them, the slide bar jaw would cant on an angle from the body jaws, when opened more than 1". So slide bar channel was machined un centric. While one of these two had a vast variation in powdercoat finishes between individual parts, the other had quite an amount of jaws play, the other was nice and tight.Odly, the third one (that I kept), had sloppy jaws play, some noticeable casting blunders, one most noticeable was under the removable jaw...a wide open gapping hole, i certainly wouldn't give this one top stress fracture statistics. Either way, it was the only one of the three that the jaws would align perpendicularly when beyond 1" of open jaw.For a couple hundred dollar China mini vice, one would want to believe Wilton does have a QC department behind these, i beg to differ. They should not be any difference in price compared to a Harbor freight in my opinion, the one I use at work aligns right up with big namer Wilton. I even reached out to them, they said to just order another one and return to Amazon.

This a great good quality multi purpose vice for a small shop. I’ve had it for almost a year in a humid environment and no surfaces are showing any signs of rust. Definitely worth the price in my opinion.

This vise is smaller than I thought it would be. Yes I read the description but . . . it is SMALL. It is NOT for big projects.

I needed a versatile vise for a Gladiator workbench. I have a lot of stuff on my bench, so I wanted something well-made but not too big either. I find that I am usually working with smaller parts for DIY home projects. It's holding the parts in the best position that is tricky. The rotating head and pipe clamp on this model allow you to hold just about anything at a good position for working. Pick up a pair of plastic / rubber jaw guards to make it even better.

This is an excellent quality vice. It offers full rotation both at the base and on the clamp. I’ve had two other lower cost vices and they both failed to meet my expectations. This face was a bit more expensive but well worth the money. Device arrived three days early and was well packaged with no damage whatsoever. I’m very happy with it and would recommend it to anybody that needs a smaller vice with an excellent wide clamping range and versatility to rotate in all directions.
