A great addition to my tool bench. Perfect for holding the smaller parts I typically work on. Will easily outlast me.

It’s Wilton, stout (but this model isn’t the heavy industrial version) great for the semi-professional, medium-heavy abuser.

I can't give an informed comparative review, but after some research I'm glad I bought this one - great heft, smooth action on the jaws, and it grips well. The swivel action locks down firmly, and once it's unlocked, the vise spins around on its base plate with an even motion. I immediately trimmed some aluminum angle to make set-in jaw liners.Once lined, I did some cutting and, most urgent, tapping threads - mostly impossible up to this point without a vise. I plan on doing some small scale forging and welding to start dabbling in metal fabrication, and I look forward to having this tool on my bench to add stability, leverage, and ease to all manner of tasks.I haven't used it much and I haven't had a vise until now, but I can say that I should have gotten one, probably before I bought a compressor, half my wrenches and hand tools, and definitely before I started doing any of the metal work I've got under my belt.

This is a very nice Wilton vise. I do not at all regret this purchase so far. Makes sure to always read the manual you get with your tool before writing a horrible review. Some times it's the user's fault for the destruction of their tool. Also, neat tip. If you want to cut somewhat thin sheet metal, but don't have a shear, hold it in the vise and use a sharp cold chisel and hammer to cut it at area near the jaw and the metal.

Received my Wilton Model WS4 in the delivery timeframe promised by Amazon of course and I love this Wilton vise for most home use and light commercial use too. Very solid and heavy vise with a smooth handle operation and does exactly what I expected of it and more. The only negative comment was the actual condition the vise was in upon the (no signature) delivery left by my front door. The outer and inner shipping cartons were ripped through with a huge hole in both boxes. Of course with my luck the handle was bent on the vise, exactly on the same side where the box was damaged. About a 10 degree bend which is frustrating to have to look at every time I use the vise. Of course it works, but I should have sent it right back to Amazon, but because it was left at my door, I didn't want to bother with all the return shipping labels, UPS, pick up etc, reboxing and taping, blah, blah.Hey it works and it's a work vise right. Too bad I have OCD and have to live with the thing.
