Hey, guess what? the lube shops don't change your transmission filter unless you specifically ask them to. Check your cars manufacturers service interval and change this on schedule. Your car will thank you. Your transmission shop will not, because you will not be bringing them thousands of dollars worth of business.

The filter fits great, and works well. Used it on a 2002 Saturn SL2. This filter accepts the original ring magnet without impeding flow. Many report leaking (in general, not just with this brand filter). Install the filter as tight as you can by hand. Drive for a few days and then return to the filter. You can access just the filter itself easily right under the hood (top side) by removing that air resonator box with the one small plastic clip. Once off (see included picture) you can carefully reach down to the filter. From this angle, and after a few driving days, you can easily give the filter another quarter turn until its as hand tight as you can make it. Now the filter will not seep, guaranteed. Some folks put a filter wrench on it so they don’t have to come back a few days later but I prefer this method. It is a small two minute follow up job.

Great replacement. I didn’t know you have to really tighten the trans filter down with a filter wrench. I spun it on hand tight like you would an oil filter and it started leaking after a few thousand miles. Tightened it up and it’s fine. Make sure you tighten it, a lot.

I used this WIX ATF filter on my 2000 SaturnSL1. I believe I replaced the original filter. This was a perfect fit. I expect no problems with this filter for many miles! :-]

Wix is the only transmission filter I buy now. If your car still has th original filter with a magnet, you can go ahead and throw that magnet out, it’s only needed during the breaking in period. Easy to install, took about 15 mins. While you’re there, I recommend changing out any sensors nearby and cleaning out your air box, and inspect your transmission coolant lines

These Wix filters for the saturn transmission are nice & don't leak. The last filter change I purchased the house brand from advanceauto & had a very small amount of seepage around the gasket base areaas dirt would accumulate around that area and I know it was tightened properly.I have used the Wix in the past and am now going back to it.

I have tried many of the different transmission filters for the S-Series Saturns and this is the best. They are made in Taiwan but are the highest quality filters and have never leaked for us! They will also give enough room for the magnet that fits against the base threaded pipe for the filter. The magnets were usually removed by the dealer. It will look like a round disk with a grey magnetic sludge on it if yours is still there. Keep your Saturns going with regular maintenance! Ours has over 325,000 miles.
