Some of the comments suggest some people don't understand what a wobble stool is. You don't really sit on it, you lean against it - so the stool and your two feet form a three-point system.Yes the padding is hard - I appreciate that comment. One could use a softer pillow on it. But also, the point of the wobble stool is to avoid the health hazards of long periods of sitting, so not leaning hard in one position for along time is a good thing - the hard padding makes you want to move.I switch between leaning on the wobble stool and standing, and I also move the wobble stool around a lot by straightening and flexing my knees, changing my position - that is, not staying in one position for long. I've only had it for a few weeks but it seems solid. I'm 5' 11" and it goes taller than I need.

I just bought a second one of these to replace the first one. This is my 'daily driver' for work, so I did not have time to look for a better quality product. The seat is made of thin plastic and has to handle your weight flexing it. The first one made it almost exactly two years of heavy daily use - approximately 6,000 hours @ 140 lbs. If they offered an optional better quality seat, I would pay extra for it.When the seat fails, the stool will no longer hold pressure while you are sitting on it. This is because the weight of the seat is now pushing directly onto the levers. I tried to salvage the seat by removing the levers, but the part of the seat that connects to the shaft is sheared off and separated, so while it won't depressurize, the seat is unstable and simply falls off if you apply any off-center pressure.I like the product itself. It promotes active sitting, which is important when you work a desk job. You definitely need to buy a stool cover though. The padding is the bare minimum for qualifying as a cushion. It seems to be a 2" thick piece of foam.Other than the short life-span. I had no issues with it for two years, and obviously I am now using it again. I can no longer sit for long hours at a normal desk like in my youth, so this product has been a life saver for taking the pressure off my feet at my standing desk.

The product arrives in parts. The pictures in the assembly instructions don't match the product exactly, which caused a little bit of confusion. My initial attempt to assemble it failed, and I was worried I'd have to send it back, but I persevered - it turns out it takes substantial force to get the pieces to lock together properly. The instructions say to bounce up and down on the seat to push them together, and they're not kidding. It took so much bouncing I was starting to suspect a manufacturing defect, but eventually it worked. You'll know when its locked together properly because pressing the buttons will cause the seat to lift immediately without much effort on your part.I do actually suspect a design flaw, as I have to press two buttons at once instead of just one as the instructions state, but it still works, so I'm not intending to return it. That's just as well, as disassembling it once assembled is not trivial. The column had some minor paint chips on it, again not enough to make me want to return it.Otherwise, the product is as advertised. I'm using it with my sit-stand desk, and so far I'm happy. I know some have complained about there not being enough padding on the edge, but I think that's probably just due to the way they're sitting on it. I think if you keep moving around enough it's fine. The seat is designed to keep you moving.

I've been using for a couple weeks, doesn't work exactly as I envisioned...seat is a bit slippery so if I lean on it at too much of an angle it slowly slides out. But it is comfortable when used as a stool, stashes easily, good weight and seems pretty durable. Do feel it is helping me improve my posture.

I had a similar type stool years ago which I loved for working at drawing board ( regretfully shipped it abroad and too heavy to bring home). Couldn't find the same thing again, so went for this one, which is much pricier elsewhere on the net. Quality is good and it looks good. It also functions well and does what you need it to do, being ideal for working at high tables, drafting boards etc etc. My only crit' is that it is not as comfortable as I hoped, or compared to my previous model. Perhaps I'm just 15 years older, and my back-side is more boney?, but I can't "sit" on it for very long. Like anything else I guess…….if you get to try it out first that's great. Pretty good though.

Loved the stool. Works great as a standing stool. I can adjust it for height very well and thus affect how much weight I actually place on it. I find I my use patterns have evolved with this. I started trying to use it as a stool to take breaks. that was ok, but in the end I find myself just grabbing it every 20-30 mins or so for a quick' lean', and then back to standing. Works out wonderfully. When you consider this is a secondary piece of furniture to your standing desk, and you won't be using it all the time (as you will be standing) can you really justify the price for the top rated stools, I couldn't and thus the purchase. The price for this is just right imho and the quality is excellent. Stability is great and I find no discomfort with the seat cushion as some have reported. Great purchase.

I was excited to finally get my Wobble chair. Here is my review:Pros:1. Compact and takes up little space.2. Easy to adjust the height (the hydraulic lift post works great).3. Easy to maneuver around... I like that you can slightly tilt it and change positions.4. There was no problem with assembly, it took 5 minutes. A small Phillips screwdriver is the only tool needed.5. I feel I am actively sitting, using my core and legs and encouraging good posture.6. It doesn't Wobble, which is a good thing. It stays in place.Cons:1. Seat is not cushioned or firm enough resulting in soreness after a short while of sitting on it. If the cushion was little firmer and about 1" thicker it would not compress to a point that you feel the ridges around the cushion of the molded seat. I am 6' and weigh ~185 pounds. If you are lighter it may not be an issue. I placed 14" Dia. x 2" cushion on top of it, which helped a lot.Other Comments:I use this as my main chair for working at my desk, so I am on it for several hours at a time. It replaced using a large stability ball. The base is heavy, but that was expected for stability and I don't expect to carry it around.Update (10/30/15):After using this chair almost daily for 18 months, I am looking for something else. I really liked the concept because it takes up very little space, but the seat is just too uncomfortable for sitting on all day. I even switched out the seat for the more cushioned replacement I received free from the manufacturer several months after I originally purchased it. Several months after later, I layered on top another 12" diameter cushion (like for a bar stool), which helped for a while, but still not cushioned enough. I even placed a loose third cushion on top. I think it comes down to a combination of seat diameter being too small (add 4") and using a thicker higher density cushion, maybe even 4" thick. If you only using this stool for short sitting periods, it is fine, but for several hours it just gets uncomfortable. Other than the seat, I have not had any other issues with this stool. Downgraded from 4 to 3 stars.
