I ordered this to include on our family's Easter buffet. Deviled eggs are delicious, and this is a great way to serve them. It does appear to be made of solid wood, but it is from jointed-together pieces, not one solid board. It is very light weight as well; not sure what kind of wood it is made from. You can flip it over to serve other items if desired. I would not use it as a cutting board, as the finish is slightly shiny and I think it would ruin it. I like how unique it is, and I can't wait to use it this Easter.
