Difficult to use and not worth the money. Consider another product that clamps your materials together.

I bought a second set of these after using the first set on a cabinet. You adjust them for the thickness of the wood (3/4" in this case) then they clamp in firm and square. You can use them with or without the knobs, although I prefer the knobs. I've always had issues clamping cabinets and these are pretty small compared to bar or pipe clamps but clamp firmly and square.Added a photo of a glue-up. I have a cabinet (3/4" stock) and these clamps hold the cabinet tightly together. Helps for test setups as they're easy on and off, and in glue-ups. You still need to have good clean joints and you will need to ensure they're together, but these things hold it all together and squarely. One more point - they are not plastic, but polycarbonate I think. Very rugged. I've dropped them a few times and they don't have a mark on them. Also - they don't mark your work either.

These work fine for smaller projects but anything cabinet sized they are really difficult to tighten which renders them useless to me. They also are made of plastic and not the quality woodpecker materials we are all used to. Not sure how they can justify the price and thus returned.

To expensive for what they do and slow to convert to the knob then you've got another tool and part to store and hopefully you don't misplace them. There's better units out there that would be easier to operate

I’ve read that some people are having some minor issues with theirs for some reason, maybe they are not using it properly?I’m don’t have any problems with my set whatsoever, my box clamps works perfectly fine as it should and for a cheaper alternative than the aluminum version, I’m very happy and satisfied, although I may get the aluminum version sometime soon or just get more sets of the plastic ones.

Great product, very well built. Resistant and precise. A little tricky at the beginning, but once you get used is very handy. Still think it’s a little expensive, but it’s worth the money

They can work well as a tool for aligning 90 degree joints after some preparation when applied to certain types of joints.First, the preparation. At the edges of the slots that the aligned materials are placed in I sanded off a slight lip to help the material sit flush. It should clearly be addressed by adjusting the manufacturing process, but it was at least easy to do.In my experience, web clamps are easier and better to work with when dealing with miter joints because of the nature of the clamping pressure web clamps provide. It's best to think of the pressure applied by these clamps as %100 alignment and 0% mating. If some mating happens to occur, great. However, it shouldn't be counted on to apply the mating pressure required to have a strong joint. Used in conjunction with parallel clamps (since these align 90 degree joints) these are great for butt joints, mortise and tenon joints, etc. Miter joints may be aligned well by these, but following up with parallel joints in order to mate the joint requires more finesse than using a web clamp. (Over/under applying pressure with the parallel clamps will knock a simple miter joint out of alignment because the outside of the joint isn't supported in order to allow the material to pass through the device so it can work with "T" and "X" joints.) It can be done, and I differentiate here for those that know what type of work they want to do, such as building mitered picture frames vs. cabinet carcasses. With a more limited function than the device initially appeared to have and even though it required some preparation I still think the product deserves 4 stars. They're a value at approximately half the cost of the aluminum versions, and they maintain the proper alignment of the joint. A square box or carcass is easily achieved using these with parallel clamps that are applied with even pressure. Too much pressure can still force the piece to bow, and if the glue sets while the parts are bowed then even a perfect alignment of the joint may become moot.If a piece being built has enough depth (and 4 corners) then it may take 8 of these to ensure that the entire span of the joints are kept in alignment.

I own several Woodpeckers products which are all excellent quality and do exactly what they are intended to do. These box clamps are no exception....they are great clamps for assembling small drawers and any right angle joints. For bigger projects I would recommend larger right angle clamps however. The only drawback with these clamps are that they are a little tedious to tighten and release.
