As a beginning felter, I started with inexpensive materials and, while I was enjoying my new hobby (or at least told myself I was), I found myself getting frustrated frequently when my materials weren’t cooperating with me and things weren’t turning out as I had hoped.When I got this wool roving, I set it aside waiting for the day I became better at felting. Silly me! That day wasn’t happening because I was hardly ever picking up my supplies and practicing!I finally decided to “spend” some of my pretty purple set of wool on a frivolous folly of a project with no concrete goals or expectations. I discovered that this wool is very easy to work with, and I was having SO much fun, I didn’t want to stop! I don’t know where this current project will take me, but I think I will know when I get there, and meanwhile, I’m thoroughly enjoying the journey.This set has such generous amounts of each color, I don’t anticipate running out any time soon. Only thing is, I may need to get some of the other color sets so I don’t get tired of purple, my favorite color. I think I want to stick with this brand for now, as it’s so easy to work with and the colors are lovely.My fellow beginners, don’t waste your time on subpar materials and tools. You, your time, and your energy are worth getting it right the first time!

This is a great set of roving.The colors are lovely and the wool is soft and clean. I mainly got it for needle felting, but the colors are so pretty, I've decided to incorporate some into some yarn I'm making.

This felting wool is just so pretty! The colors are vibrant and very consistent throughout, so every bit of the wool is the same color as the rest. The colors go incredibly well together, so this is really a fantastic set.I have just started doing some needle felting, so I am really not an expert in what makes this wool different from any other felting wool, but when my daughter spotted this, she begged for it. She has done a lot of needle felting, especially with 4H projects, and she absolutely loves the colors in this set.She tells me that this is really easy to use for any felting project, and that it feels great.

I actually ordered this set of wool roving by Woolbuddy for using with my drop spindle. I have used Corriedale wool in the past and done well with it. This set of 6 different colors is a great set for the current price of about $17 (less than $3 a color). Colors are very nice and consistent through the roving bat. The wool is coarse and definitely feels like wool with nothing artificial mixed in. I haven’t used the included link as I don’t felt but do appreciate that the seller included it. It’s not a deal breaker but the wool is sourced from Australian sheep but the packaging doesn’t tell me where it was processed, dyed, or carded.My Amazon rating system-Five stars-As described. May have a minor problem. Good to great value.Four stars-As described but may have a more noticeable flaw or problem. Or, not as good as value.Three stars-Good item. Has a flaw/problem that requires more work than should be invested in a product.Two stars-May be a good item with work. Or, doesn’t work for me but may for someone else.One star-Nope. Doesn’t work for me and probably won’t for anyone else.

I really love the color selection and amount that you receive with this wool pack. The texture is definitely rougher than some I have used in the past, so I did end up going through more needles, breaking and dulling. It took a little getting used to. I would say this is a really good wool, but maybe not for high detail work. I used it to make a garland of hearts for valentines day, and the rougher texture was a positive for what I made with it.

This set of wool comes with a large quantity for the price. It's mostly purple, and the colors are all a lot more similar to each other in person than they look in the photos, so it's a LOT of purple, and not as much contrast or variety as I was hoping for.It's not the best quality wool. This set is more quantity than quality, so if that's what you are going for, it's ok. But it's wound very tightly, especially into the center of each ball, so that in order to use it, you first have to spend a lot of time picking apart some of it.Most of the skeins also contain some small foreign pieces of something. Almost like small scraps of plastic or thick paper. I'm not sure what they are, but there are little inclusions that need to be picked out by hand. Just a few per color, but still annoying.Overall, just average quality and color selection. Fine if you have bulk projects that need a lot of wool but not a lot of detail.
