As the other review said, this is a beautiful pad--better in person than its Amazon photos--and far more cost effective than other pads of this type. It's very comfortable for my horse, making for a perfect saddle fit. I so want to give this five stars, and yet when I contacted the seller to ask about washing instructions, I learned that it is not machine washable. I plan to use my vacuum first and then wipe it clean as best I can, but as anyone who trains horses knows, they are not clean animals. If they could make this pad machine washable, I would be buying more. As it is, I'll probably spend the extra $50 for the sheepskin-lined pads my saddle fitter sells, since they can go in the wash.UPDATE: Having ridden in the pad for several weeks and gotten it thoroughly sweaty, I broke down and threw it in the washer. To my delight, it washed beautifully. I've increased my star rating to reflect this and, assuming that it continues to wash well, plan to buy more.
