I got these cutters mostly for cutting nails off flush with the underside of the plywood roof sheathing. My furnace is in the attic and with limited headroom there is always the danger of poking a nail into my scalp. They do a great job at that and make fast work of it. There are other times when diagonal side cutters are not an option due to space, so these come in handy for that task. At the price they are a must in every tool box. Though I haven't tried it, one can readily see they would be great for that stuck nail that already lost its head and can't be pulled by a bar or hammer.I tried cutting some common nails just to see the strength of these pliers and how much leverage they have. The articulation of the handles and jaws are a clever design and amplify the hand motion well beyond a simple scissor action. I found that an 8 penny nail (0.130 in diameter) was my limit for a simple hand squeeze. I was able to cut a 10 penny (0.150) by both squeezing and pressing against my leg like we all do to give a herculean effort. The nails cut cleanly and there was no ding/dent in the cutting blades as seen in the photo. They are quite strong and a very hard steel.

This 8-inch nail puller/snipper seemed promising with its leverage-enhancing design, but it didn’t perform as well as I’d hoped. The vendor claims it can handle up to 3mm of mild steel, but in my tests, it struggled with a steel nail of that thickness. I couldn’t cut it with confidence that the tool would hold up. The cutting blades don’t align perfectly, which likely contributed to its difficulty snipping copper cleanly. Additionally, the tool has some noticeable flex, making me hesitant to apply full force.Another oddity is that the vendor lists the tool’s cutting limits in millimeters, despite selling it on Amazon US, where most buyers expect inch measurements. That makes it harder for users to gauge whether the tool meets their needs. Regardless, I think expecting this tool to perform reliably at the upper end of its stated capacity is a stretch. On the plus side, the crimping feature worked surprisingly well, effectively compressing both copper and mild steel. For my intended use—trimming copper rivets for leatherwork—it’ll do the job. But buyers should not assume this is a heavy-duty cutter for steel nails, and certainly not for hardened screws.

The WORKPRO 8 Inch Nail Puller Pliers are strongly built and work well. The dipped handles take up less room than the over-molded sets in the bags and cutter end is well machined. I'm not sure the compound pivot makes a huge difference, but it doesn't take away from the stability in the slightest.

This is a very well designed nail puller, much better than my grandfather's Utica Tools nail puller (model 260-6 Lubring).I tried it out on No. 6 box nails on a pallet and it worked great. It's a pleasure to work with such a well designed tool.It also pulls wires very well with its lower grip.

Pulls nails no problem. Cute small sizes of wire ok. Definitely isn't going to last long cutting thicker metal.

I have lots of Knipex and Gearwrench hand tools, especially Knipex for pliers as I believe they make some of the best pliers by way of tight tolerances and good ergonomics. Since this is a nail puller/cutting tool, I didn't think I needed to pay a huge sum of money for that level of quality. As such, my expectations were set accordingly low. These pliers met and exceeded my expectations. They somewhat remind me of Knipex offerings, though the rough edges on these illustrate the lower quality. Aesthetics aside, their functionality is great! The metal is sturdy, not easily damaged as I've cut several dozen nails on my fence line without noticeable wear on the cutting edge. The handle ergonomics are about as good as the lower end Knipex, and overall design works well for both pulling and cutting nails. However, if you need a tool to pull more than a couple dozen nails, I'd recommend a dedicated nail puller rather than a hybrid tool such as this.Overall, I'm pleased with these pliers as they work well and cost a fraction of their German counterpart!

These are great. Comfortable in hand, lots of gripping power, nice flat jaws to really get under the nail head for a solid connection. I also use them for cutting wire when I'm wire feed welding. Fit and finish is spot on. Very nicely made tool.

Very solid tool which seems very tough and durable. Great gripping and cutting strength on small and medium wires, etc. Good size to be able to handle most home tasks.
