Fitment:

Installation:

  • 1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  • 2. Remove the following parts.
  • a. Liftgate upper trim.
  • b. Liftgate side trim.
  • c. Liftgate lower trim.
  • d. Liftgate latch and lock actuator.
  • 3. Disconnect the connector.
  • 4. Pull out the retainer in the direction of the arrow.
  • 5. Remove the liftgate opener switch.
  • 6. Install in the reverse order of removal.

VW Passat estate B7 2013Water got into the handle and prevented the boot opening due to corrosion on wires and connectors. The same part from an auto parts supplier was twice as much, plus postage and over five days delivery. Prime delivered next day.

It would have been 5 stars however the housing of the plug does not contain the little ridge at the bottom to be able to securely "clip" into place by the existing bracket. It did not affect the electronical use of it,however I did use a small zip tie in a creative manner to make sure the plug does not wiggle itself free when the boot is closed multiple times.
