maybe I got a defective one. Returned for a full credit, but didn't have one in stock to replace it with.

I bought this kit about 1 1/2 years ago and it's great. Don't remember how much I paid. No problems. We still use it today. The batterys fit in all my controller with no problems. I just bought an elite and the batteries work in it. I'm shocked by the other reviews. Maybe they had a bad batch. I would buy this product again if I needed another one.

To tell you the truth, I actually like this charging station. And contrary to what others have said, I haven't had to shove, pound, or push the battery packs in. It fits like a glove, the batteries are compatable, and they work great. The only flaw in the design is that you have to constantly take the packs out when you need to charge them. This gets annoying when the controller has to constantly re-establish a connection with the console. The charger is also odd in the sense that the charge light is red when it's charging and it turns either green or it just doesn't have a light when it's at full power. It's not that big a deal to me, especially since there are a lot more pros than cons to it. For example, it powers the controller more conservativly than a typical battery. In fact, a typical set of double AA's had already lost a bar in power after four hours of continuous play as opposed to the Nyko battery that still was at full power in the same time frame. The charging station is also small so it doesn't take up that much space, making more room for other things (more games). It's a good charge station for the avid gamer who engorges on 13 plus hours of gaming a day. If your kind of skeptical about forking out $30 for it, then I'd try and get it used or on discount like I did. Gamestop is a good retailer. They sell them for as low as $15 dollars, even lower if you have an edge card. Permitting you can find a charger, that is.

I have had no real issues with this product, unlike some of the other reviewers. The battery packs fit perfectly into my controllers and the charger, I don't have to jam them in there or anything. The charge station also charges the official Microsoft charge packs, but sometimes they do have to be properly placed, because you can tell they seem to be a little bit smaller in size. I have had this product for over a year and the packs still hold a good charge.Update: After a few years, the packs are completely dead. Stick to MS Brand, the packs last longer and their charger takes up less space.

Okay to Gamers this is a GREAT deal... two batteries, and docking station to charge both batteries plus get the cable to charge the battery already in your controller... Well, here is the problem... I looked all over the box... it doesn't say anywhere how much input came be put in there... 110V?? or 220V?? Who knows... My guess don't chance it... make sure you plug it into the 110V with your Xbox 360...

I picked this combo power kit because it was the deal of the day and I thought it'd be a descent performer considering the cost... Well I should have just put down the extra 10 bucks to get the Official Microsoft quick charge kit because the batteries are made of a casing design that is too large for the controller that I think it may have created a crack on one my controller because the batteries have to be placed in so tight. Additionally, the charger dock does not allow for charging of the official microsoft batteries unless extra pressure is placed on top so that the metal connectors touch (this is probably due to the oversided nature of the nyko kit).I would advise anyone, unfortunately, pay the extra money for the official charge kit or use generic AA rechargable batteries instead of this harmful product. For me, the batteries and charge station is in the trash, but I'm keeping the play and charge cord piece - i hope that'll work right.

The Nyko batteries are larger than the standard Microsoft Xbox 360 Controller batteries. They need to be forced into the Xbox controllers or into the Microsoft Quick Charge Kit. Since the batteries are larger, they don't always make contact with the charging units/controllers. This is probably the problem that other people have experienced when they claim the Nyko batteries are defective. If you don't mind using some force to jam these batteries into your controller, then maybe this product is for you. Just keep in mind you get what you pay for. The Xbox 360 Quick Charge Kit is just a far superior product.
