Overall, I am satisfied with the purchase of this product. I was on the road and at a camping trip when I needed to replace the male inlet on our travel trailer and the female end on the power cord. Only thing was lack of installation / instructions. Not a big deal for me as I have a basic understanding of how electricity works but for someone who would not have the knowledge, the lack of instructions would make things difficult. Now, I did buy a set that was “in like new condition “ so maybe part of the instructions were missing because of this. Again, overall get product and took about 30min to replace both sections and has been working just fine.

First of all we're not with assembling this I did not know I was going to be doing a review. But the design of this plug is so good I took pictures and decided to review it. I am a full-time rver so my power plug is my lifeline. It has to work or I'm going to have lots of issues. It is very obvious that the person that Design This truly used it after they designed it. Most important feature that makes insulation easy is the butterfly opening of the cord retainer. When you're working with large gauge cable it's sometimes very hard to line up all the cables the way you need them the screw sets on this plug are extremely sturdy and very well Incorporated. I could tell when I was screwing in the The Wire screws that I knew this was not going to fall apart. Everything went together effortlessly and I'm very happy with the build quality of this plug.. I would most definitely recommend this plug as a replacement for your 50 amp service

I have seen some mixed reviews on this product. I bought it because we are finishing the restoration on a 1977 Minnie Winnie class C motor home. It was set up with the shore power cord in a compartment and permanently attached. To use it you had to pull it out of the compartment, and then reverse the process to put it away. It was a tiny compartment, and a bit of a pain. I noticed that the high end newer coaches didn’t do it that way. They had an exterior outlet, and the shore power cord was detachable. This kit had everything I needed to make the upgrade.First you need a hole in the coach. The instructions call for a 2 7/8 hole saw. I used a 3” which I already had, and it was perfect. I needed to get the cable from its existing location to the new socket. I was able to drill the hole right above the existing compartment, and it went into the space under one of the dinette benches. Then I cut the existing shore power cable at a point which gave me enough length to reach the new socket. I connected that to the new socket following the color codes on the back. Then I connected the plug end to the end of the remaining length of shore cable, again following the indicated color coding. A note here: one review claims that the color coding is reversed. I did not find this to be the case. I checked with a polarity tester after installation, and it was fine. I suggest you do the same. FYI, when younger I was a journeyman electrician, so I know what I am doing. Another issue mentioned in some reviews is the difficulty of getting the boot over the plug. Yes, it is tight, but I put a little butter where it was needed and had no problem with it. If this step gives you trouble, find someone with strong hands to help.Altogether it took me about 90 minutes. It looks factory and is well weather sealed. All in all a straightforward install and a good looking end result. Installation does assume common tools and decent DIY skills. You will need to supply your own screws to attach the socket to the coach. I used self tapping sheet metal screws into the aluminum siding on the coach.
