Difficult inserting on bar due to slight imperfections on the bar. Make sure your bar is perfectly smooth.

I purchased these to replace the crappy nylon bushings in the torsion spring bore when I replaced them. In my case, the new torsion springs had a slightly tapered bore. I had to remove the external snap ring so that the bearing would firmly seat and be flush. Works like charm, quiet and will not wear out like the nylon bushings.

Probably best to use on new pipe

Seems like a decent bearing but it was not possible to install due to inner diameter. Might be possible on new shaft that is greased. I had to pound with rubber mallet and was able to seat the bearing on the end but there was no chance of sliding bearing further down shaft.

I purchased four bearings to replace my worn out plate bearings. You'll need to press fit the bearings into place into a standard bearing plate. If you look at your standard bearings one outside edge of the outside ring is curved outward as part of the bearing to seat the bearing into place. This technique saves the manufacturer money but not necessarily your time. Xike bearings go a step further; they have straight outer diameter ring with an offset cut groove to accept an outer snap ring to seat the bearing. Because the outside ring is straight you can seat the bearing in the CENTER bearing plate on the SHORT side of the offset without compression. This properly aligns the bearing in the plate and aligns the torsion bar at the center. The remaining part of the outside ring seats in the spring as normal when you bolt in the spring. You cannot do this with a standard bearing configuration. Not having to remove and realign my center plate was a huge advantage. The bearings are well designed, run smooth and have a tight feel that I expect from good bearings. They fit the standard 1" torsion bar (0.995") without a problem. I expect long service from these devices hence the reason I'm willing to spend extra for the units.

These bearings came in on time, were cheaper in price or the same price as the standard garage door bearings, and are way more heavy duty. All I did to install these was that I took a hammer and popped the old bearings out of the bearing plates and hammered these back into place. I did notice that these bearings have a slight higher tolerance so I had to use my dremel to clean the shaft up a little which made all the difference. Overall I can definitely not complain. I almost forgot to mention that these bearings also are about double the thickness of the standard bearings which is better for more support.
