Where is My Projector Lamp Located

A projector lamp can be found by locating a square or rectangular plastic plate somewhere on the outside of the projector; the plate is usually on the bottom of the projector, but can sometimes be found on the top or sides.

This cover is usually secured by two screws; undo these screws and lift the plate off to reveal the bottom of the plastic housing (the module) that holds the projector lamp in place in your projector.

This plastic housing usually has a handle attached to it. Pull gently on this handle to remove the projector lamp from your projector.

It is time to replace the lamp when:

* Picture has become dull and lacks brightness.

* There is an obvious decline in picture clarity and sharpness.

* Your lamp is flickering.

* There is difficulty or a delay when turning the machine on.

* A light comes on that warns you that it may be time to change your lamp.

Note:

1. Let the lamp cool down before replacing it.

If the lamp breaks, handle the shards

carefully to avoid injury.

2. Do not touch the glass portion of

the lamp assembly. Touching the glass

could result in premature lamp failure.

3. Be sure to seat the lamp fully and

secure the lamp cover. If the lamp is

not properly installed or the cover

is loose, the lamp will not turn on.

The XIM P-VIP 240/0.8 E20.9n from seller only lasts about 1/4 to 1/3 as long as a stock bulb. Bought a 2nd one since the price was cheap and had to return since it didn't even light up. Ended up going with a stock bulb from ebay.

Item installed just fine. Out of the gate, it worked just fine. It's in a projector in our basement so it's not used very often. This morning, after I would say less than 200 working hours, the bulb exploded, smoke came from the projector and set-off my smoke detector for ~ 5 minutes. Very disappointing. I guess you get what you pay for sometimes. The price SEEMED right.....

When new it took a long time to warm up and wasn't really better than the OEM after thousands of hours. Now after 360h the bulb is so dim it needs replacing.

About the same intensity light. I purchased 2. the first lasted an equivalent 425 Hours and the second lasted an equivalent 1325 hours.Very inconsistent lifespan. but it's also less than a fifth of the price of new. I'll look for alternatives before reordering this one again.

Just as bright as the OEM but at a fraction of the cost.So far I've logged ~300hrs.Time will tell if it can match the OEM which ran just under 2,000hrs
