To put it simply, the biggest flaw with the entire StarLink system is its cables - this fixes that. Our StarLink lives on a mount on the roof of our house and goes with us on multiple trips per year in a magnetic vehicle mount. This requires me to frequently climb a ladder to try to jerk the cable out of the most fragile part of the system, often in very cold temperatures. The stock StarLink ethernet cable works great at 25 degrees above freezing, but is useless at 25 degrees below freezing and almost immediately broke. If I were to install a new StarLink today, the first thing I would do is cut off the end and use this ethernet adapter instead—even just for safety reasons. Even if StarLink someday manages to make a cable that will survive Canada's winters, it's still incredibly dangerous to have to jerk on a cable while 20 feet up a ladder.

This does not fit the cable that comes factory with the Gen 3 dishy, at least not when using the waterproof casing (which is a must since it will be deployed outside in the weather). If not using the waterproof casing, the male end of the dishy's cable plugs directly into the female end of the adapter. But, when using the waterproof casing, the plastic ring does not fit over the existing rubber on the wire just before the RJ45 connector itself - which you can see in the middle of my picture. If you leave out the plastic ring, the rubber on the cable just before the RJ45 connector doesn't fit through the adapter's casing either since it's only as wide as the plastic ring. Both ends of my cable have the rubber before the connector which helps keep it waterproof and helps it fit snugly into the dishy and the router. But, there's no way to get the cable through the plastic ring or casing without shaving the rubber off of the cable, which I'm not willing to do.The left and middle connectors in my picture are the ends of my cable, so you can see there's rubber at both ends. The connector on the right is from this adapter, which you can see has the same rubber as the factory cable. I've had 2 cables for the Gen 3 dishy, and both have the waterproofing rubber just before the RJ45 connector.I'm giving this 2 stars because, despite it not working with the Gen 3 cable as advertised, the adapter itself does work. But, without the usage of the waterproof casing, there's nothing preventing rain from getting into the cable and adapter, and not much keeping the cable plugged into the adapter. If I could have gotten the waterproof casing and plastic ring to fit around the rubber on the cable, I would have given this 5 stars.

This short extension cable does a good job where a short pigtail is needed.

This weatherproof / IP68 network adapter for the Starlink Gen 3 or Mini is a handy replacement in case your original gets damaged by an animal or something. (There are two of these in the pack.)The quality is evident, and we can see how the weather protection of the connectors is achieved. If you have a Gen 2 Starlink dish this might not be the one to use. At least the compatibility diagram shows it is not for the older Starlink antennas.

The build quality is impressive. These adapters are designed to handle outdoor conditions, they’re waterproof and feel durable right out of the box. The installation is straightforward. It connects your standard SPX cable to an RJ45 Ethernet setup seamlessly. No fancy tools or advanced setup, just plug it in, and it's good to go. in terms of performance, the adapter offers a stable, fast wired connection, which is exactly what I need for gaming, streaming, or running smart home devices. I immediately noticed the difference compared to relying only on Starlink’s Wi-Fi.
