Must remove handle to fit as handle will NOT clear transom. Instructions are NOT for this product. Instructions do have some useful suggestions; but follow them verbatim with peril. For price quality of materials are good. 1) remove handle and spring (spring material not gonna last with that range of stretch). 2) use rope and two pullies to raise/lower. There's a lot of these identical mounts for sale. Perhaps some garage factory in China has some parts and including printed instructions from other stuff and tossed these together and offered up cheap?

Not near as sturdy as they said. I made a couple of modifications and made it work

I find not easy to tilt motor up and downHave to Titan wing nuts up too tight so they don’t come loose and difficult to loosen them off at back of boat

The bracket is listed as capable of a use with a 25hp motor, up to 110 lbs. When I installed my 54 lb 4hp Yamaha the spring provided NO Lift support and the motor dropped all the way to the brackets lower limit. Lifting motor back up required excessive effort. After a single lowering and raising of the motor, the single spring had permanently stretched (without any load) about 1", providing even less lifting force. The bracket had excessive side movement due to the installation of all-thread bolts at the four bracket pivot points. The all-thread bolts would eventually damage to the bracket pivot points and the movement would increase. In doing additional research I identified other buyers of this bracket (different seller) had experienced failure of the exact same plastic motor support plate, used on my bracket, "breaking in two and the motor falling off into the water".YAE Marine (seller) contacted the manufacturer, but were unable to get any support from them. Since I had already drilled four holes in my boat's transom matching this bracket, so I decided to fix it instead of returning.FIX: I replaced the four all-thread pivot point bolts with 5/16" bolts that had smooth shanks and only threads at the very end (good fit). I replaced the single spring with three new springs, one 5-1/2" and two 3-1/8" (added a 1/4" bolt to existing bracket hole to attach back end of springs) side by side, below 5-1/2" spring. Lifting force is now adequate to raise motor with reasonable effort. The plastic motor plate is now reinforced with an aluminum plate and two steel mending strips bolted to the plastic plate (at the top and bottom) and trans-versing the weak point at the upper plastic plate holes used for mounting bolts (where the plastic motor plate broke in two) to the steel bracket. The attached pictures depict the new springs and reinforced plastic motor plate. New parts cost a additional $20 at Lowes, but now bracket is usable.BUYER BEWARE! DON'T BUY THIS BRACKET UNLESS YOU ARE INSTALLING A VERY LIGHT MOTOR OR ARE PREPARED TO UP-GRADE IT AS I DID. BUY A BETTER BRACKET!

I needed a new mount right at the start of fishing season and this one was less than half the price in a local store. It works great and was easy to install without having to buy any extra hardware.

I bought this so that I can mount my transom mount trolling motor to the rear of my boat. It is very sturdy and well made. Very easy to mount and works well for my needs.
