Just tried for first time. Threw in about 12-15 1" squares of 3mm scrap glass I'd been saving. Turned on for 4 seconds and sifted out 2-1/2 ounces of powdered frit and about same for larger pieces. At the price of frit, it will only take 6 or 7 times for it to pay for itself. I already had the 4 piece sifter set. it'll take another 6-7 uses to pay for that too. FYI Yeatek does not sell replacement blades but at this payback who cares. after the 2 sets are used up, buy a new one.Update: After reading another review that mentioned metal filings in the frit, I got a stong magnet and checked. Yes, the glass tears the blades up. With 100g of glass, 15 seconds of grinding, I got 55g of powder, 45g of larger pieces and 0.35g of metal filings. It still works good. I'm going to keep using it. It just adds another step to the process.

I purchased this to grind rice into flour as I have Celiac and can’t find rice flour locally. This thing is a beast! Lol. It’s not as loud as a jet taking off but louder than a ninja blender filled with ice. For me, that’s not an issue at all because I only care about performance. And performance is great! They give you a little screen to sift out any larger particles and with 2 cups of rice I get about a tablespoon to go back in. I only set the dial to 1 1/2 so that’s fast. It does heat up quickly so give it a break in between grinds.I read where people were complaining about the flour not staying inside the container. The reason why that happened was that they didn’t have the lid locked down tight. There are 2 nuts/screws(not really a nut or screw but I can’t think of anything else to call them) under the clamps on each side of the main container that screw into a bolt that tightens down the clamps. I have been using a pair of pliers to tighten and loosen these (I don’t have the finger strength to do it manually) because it makes a huge difference. Also, don’t over fill the container or you will have a mess when you remove the lid. Give it a minute for the dust to settle before opening. I make more of a mess than this grinder does. I just figured these things out trial and error. You can’t grind anything wet in it. If you want to grind wet, the cheapest one I found was over $300 with poor ratings. Not worth it for me.Now the biggest selling point for me. A 2lb bag of wheat based flour is $2.11 and a 2lb bag of rice flour if I order it is nearly $16. With the cost of rice and a guess on electricity I’m looking at approximately $3 to make it myself. That’s saving $13 for every 2 pounds I make. I have already made 6 pounds. I have already saved $39 & another 6 pounds pays for the machine.I now know exactly what is in the flour my family consumes. Plus, I’ve gotten more adventurous with baking as I’m not losing a ton of money if I mess up.I absolutely love this grinder and only wish I knew about this sooner. If someone you know has grain issues, tell them about this machine.

This thing can grind anything to dust in seconds. Though it is meant for dry grinding, I do grind soaked grain in this Mill, works like a charm even with the soaked grains. Cleaning after wet grinding can be a little tricky as this is not dishwasher safe, but they don't recommend their product for wet grinding hence it will be unfair to remark on that.

I purchased this to grind up Root Bark and while it gets the job done it has a few caveats. Be mindful that this grinder gets insanely hot fast; if you aren’t to vigilant you could catch the contents of fire. Go with a bigger size unless chopping up small amounts is your intent because the chamber or whatever the hell it’s called is pretty small. It’s certainly fast. It will grind up root bark in less than 20 seconds to a finely shredded remainder.. If you want true powder then you’ll need to let it cool then another 20 seconds of run time followed by 20 minutes of cool down— expect about an hour of your time for a powdered composition. The blades come dull as a butter knife and, while replacements are included, forget about removing them to be sharpened because the the nut that is implemented to fasten the blade to the motor is on so damn tight that I can’t even get the damn thing off.I have yet to experience the misfiring and autonomous starting up when the lid is off.. Overall its not total crap and I would get it again, only because theirs a complete lack of options out on the market. It works, could work better, but it’s not a waste of money and not total crap

I love this grinder for making glass frit for fusing. In seconds I have coarse, medium, fine and powdered glass. All I have to do is sift the ground glass into the different sizes. Sure beats breaking the glass with a hammer. I had a little trouble figuring out the lid and the instructions weren't much help, but now that I figured it out I am VERY happy.

in NM we grind a large amount of chilli peppers this used to take a long time. with this machne I can grind a bag of chillis in less than a half an hour. this wsed to take all afternoon. easy to use, clean & best-- easy to get the chilli powder out!! also it doesn't stick to the sides. t think this thing would grind rocks, but you should use it on food first. grinds corn into corn meal or corn flour just as easily great machine. well worth the money, GBA [ Arnett farms & experimental station ]BEEN USING THIS AWHILE NOW. CAN'T FIND ANY FAULT W/ IT AT ALL. GRINDS GRAIN REALLY FAST USED IT FOR HARD RED WHEAT . MAKES GREAT FLOUR FOR BREAD. GET 1 IF YOU NEED A VERY GOOD GRINDER.

This is a very sturdy, well made machine. It makes flour in a few seconds, and it is as smooth as can be. It has 1.2 issues... The 0.2 issue is that it's not that easy to clean. Not really hard, just a bit tedious. hence the 0.2 issue designation.... The 1.0 issue is that to get coarse grain (like bulgar or steel cut oats) you need to run it very little time, and then sieve it. That added step does make it a pain. So, if you need just flour, this is superb. If you need variable coarseness levels, maybe there is a better fit for you. I have not found it yet.Enjoy!
