Fit my 48" bars perfectly. Although these fit they are not made to be removed and replaced very often. Otherwise they will start to fall apart. Sometimes you have to remove these in order to install your Yakima Bars through the towers. Received these in 3 days.

Pro Tip: Before installing, consider using a grinder to cut off the ends of the bars swollen with rust. It may make them last longer.

Perfect, these are my second set and still the same great caps. I just got a warranty for my bars since they started to crack and Yakima has always stood by their racks. These caps work when put on correctly! Use a rubber mallet and if needed a heat gun and some high quality outdoor electrical tape to help seal/secure the cap on your bars. Hope they last another 7 years!

They are exactly as advertised and work fine. My order came promptly. They are kind of pricey for what they are, and if you are moving your cross bars from one base type to another because you use your roof rack on different vehicles, they are quite difficult to remove (to change bases) without damaging them, particularly as your cross bars age and get some corrosion inside them roughing up were the insert contacts. Before use, make sure the inside of the bar is clean and smooth and use a bit of lubricant so they can be removed at a later time.

When we bought a new car, we needed to buy new bars for our Yakima system. To get the "legs" which clamp to the roof rails off, we had to remove the end caps, which - after years of use - had become brittle. The new bars did not come with endcaps, so we had to buy them separately - and our local retailer didn't stock them. So we went on Amazon and bought them from Niagara Cycle Works - who we had purchased items from before - they have great service and prices, so we returned to a known e-tailer.The new endcaps fit just as they should.
