This unit is a nice and easy way to gain hours of operation for your engine (old electrician - motors are electric and engines combust) but be aware of your particular sparkplug configuration. On my engine, Yamaha VF115, the coil assembly is mounted on each sparkplug with no sparkplug wire. Instructions show that you can wrap the coil assembly but it's difficult due to the available room. If you have standard sparkplug wires, no problem at all and the installation should literally take minutes.I've installed the meter - next step is to test the readout vs. actual hours to see if the device works with the coil wrap vs. the sparkplug wire itself.Good luck.

The cheap ones don’t work on any thing over 700rpm I learned the hard way!!

Super easy to install and very accurate. I installed this on my new 50hp Yamaha outboard and verified the hour meter with timer on my phone for 2.5 hours of the breakin period.

So far so good. This is my third hour meter. Other brands have failed. Time will tell.

Got it for Grizzly, to keep track of usage for scheduled maintenance.Pros:It works as supposed to, no issues, easy enough to mount, even though there are not many conveniently-located mount points on Grizzly. Included wire was too short, so cut it to length.Cons:-Screen visibility - too small, hard to see due to size. Contrast is ok.-too much $ for what it does. There are similar but cheaper options available. If I do it again - would get something more affordable.
