Having just received this mouthpiece about a week ago, from the very first playing time, I found it a great improvement to the original mouthpiece that came with the soprano sax. Having read all of the reviews, I fully agree with the positive comments: much easier to play; providing a richer tone than my 4C mouthpiece; fuller and improved quality of sound. It is worth every cent! I commend it to all intermediate players like myself. We’ll done, Yahama!

I bought it to get a better sound on soprano sox, knowing that I was going to modify it to give it a larger tip opening. I opened it up to 1.5 mm, and it sounds great. Altissimo will take a little practice, however.

Compared to the hundreds and thousands of dollars for pro models, this mouthpiece is very close in tone and build quality. $ for $, they are 50 star. I always use Yamaha sax mouthpieces, and they're just as good (if not better) than 25 years ago. What especially pleased me was a size 6 available. Most "beginner" mouthpieces are also beginner size 4 only.

Great playing mouthpiece for the price. I always keep a couple extra for an emergency. Nothing worse than have a student crack a mouthpiece before a performance and these are perfect for the clumsy doubler. we were all young once.

Great mouthpiece. Easy blowing and produces a warm tone with excellent intonation the full range of the horn. I am a professional sax player and have played many different setups over the years. I am playing this mouthpiece on an Allora student model soprano and it plays great and records wonderfully. Be sure to use a Rovner ligature and a medium strength reed to start with.

A great step up from the 4C. Open enough for more projection and less resistance so you're not killing your self blowing.
