The item did fit my 2001 Ford F-250. Being cheap, there were plastic components, so I'm unsure of durability, but it does work and is performing well as of now. It's been several months since I put it in. I did install it myself, but I am mechanically-inclined. If you're not, it would be easy to get confused. Just use the old one for reference of how the new one should be installed. They're practically identical. For me though, it was an easy installation that took about an hour.
