The kettle is well constructed and elegant. The long spout allows control for coffee pour-overs.

The best purchase i ever made. Amazing quality and boils water so quickly. I use it to warm water for my baby formula (non toxic stainless chemical free is a must) which takes less than a minute to warm 200ml water. I also use it for my coffee with Chemex pour over and makes the best pour to make perfect coffee. I'm very happy with the purchase especially this is genuinely made in Japan by a trustworthy company.I thought about buying another Japanese brand Hario which is more common and popular brand, however I didn't like the design and the handle is made with plastic cover. With this Yoshikawa brand, the kettle is beautifully designed with wood handle, and its pretty small and great to have it on your stove for aesthetic reason. The handle doesn't get hot, the cover won't drop even when you are nearly bottoming up the water in the kettle. If you are coffee snob, healthy snob, Japanese items fan, this is a must have item. Made with the best quality.

Fancy looking but not a fan of the rolled bottom. Make sure you put it back on the stove to dry it completely or it might rust.

First got this kettle almost 3 years ago and still work like new. Works on gas stove &conduction heat stove. Spout had the best pouring speed compared to Bonsvita; which is prone to broken neck. This old-fashion, Japanese-made gooseneck is made to last for decades and the seller is super responsive

Perfect quality , 100% Made in Japan ( not like most of kettles sold here , that are made in China with very cheap materials )Very fast delivery and superb packaging.

This kettle is just beautiful. Nicely constructed, very sturdy. Lid does not fall off when pouring, which is important. Perfect size for one or two cups of coffee.

I bought this mainly to see if it would improve my pour-over coffee, which is does, but I've ended up using it as my main kettle for tea as well. My electric kettle (mostly glass and steel, but joined internally with silicone) broke and I was hoping to find a replacement that didn't contain any plastic or silicone, which proved to be fruitless, so now I'm using this and it's great. It looks very elegant, feels well-balanced to hold, pours precisely, heats up quickly on the stove, only uses the required amount of water (there is no minimum fill level) and tea tastes much nicer (even my girlfriend with her unsophisticated yam yam palate can tell the difference).

This item is very well made but it does not have the Yoshikawa name printed anywhere. The handle is kinda orangy in my opinion not like the original Yoshikawa that has the natural wood color.

Sari nagara...

I love this kettle ! I bought it because I make tea for 1 - 2 people at a time. It was shipped from Japan and it came fairly quickly (within 1-2 weeks). The size is perfect for boiling smaller amounts of water (250 ml) or even its full 1 L capacity. I was worried I wouldn't hear the water boiling because it is not a whistling kettle, but I learned quickly to detect the moment it comes to a boil - the sound becomes different. You can also see the steam running through its small hole opening on its cap when the water is boiling. The wooden handle doesn't get hot and it adds a nice touch to this cute kettle.

Great kettle! Wood and stainless, no plastic parts and made in Japan. Wood handle stays cool, balanced and easy control. As someone else mentioned, heats pretty fast- just under 6 minutes for 650mL at med-hi. It's a bonus that it's also really good looking (a bit more on this later). It ships from Japan- I live on the east coast and it took just over 2 weeks to receive it. Worth the wait, overall I'm very happy with my purchase! One note on looks: The wood handle and knob are finished with an orange-y tinted stain or sealant which you can only pick up on in some product pictures (and may vary from piece to piece) which I did not care for aesthetically. I love the look of natural wood. For those who may have a similar reaction, a small piece of 220 sandpaper and 10 minutes reveals the beautiful blonde wood underneath (remember to use masking tape to protect the stainless from scratches). Give it a little oil. Awesome!

Kettle is constructed well and performs as such. Japan made, a selling point for me - not Chinese.Handle does not become hot when kept off burning surface.Wood on top seems faux, either way it is hard to tell. I prefer a natural looking and feeling wood.Overall, great buy.
