Compared to rocklers for 189 this vice is great. The instructions or lack of are a joke so you have to figure it out for yourself and it doesn’t come with a handle so you need to buy or make one. Definitely recommend.

I used this to fabricate a portable mini workbench. So far I have zero complaints, everything is square and true where it matters, no damage of any sort that I could detect upon arrival. Mounting was easy and thorough instructions were provided for the uninitiated. For the price point this is a great addition to any woodworker's arsenal.

This vise is usable, but not stable. There is so much play in it, both vertically and side to side, that it is only useful for me as a tail vise.

Item received in good condition and as according to purchase request. Quality product no doubt, to install it need to dismantle face plate and vise body.( good if there's a template) Heavy product. I'm happy to purchase this. Now time to work.

I put this on the end of my woodworking bench as a secondary vise for my main leg vice and it works well. I stored it in storage for about 4 months over winter and I see no corrosion or rust after pulling it back out. This will take a little more setup to use at woodworking bench since you have to put together a face plate, but I had no problem doing this for the price.

I purchased the Yost 9-inch vise to add a front face vise to a smaller woodworking bench. The bench is not that heavy so I needed something that would complement the construction without having to engineer a lot of support structure. This vise fit nicely and mounted in between the bench dog holes for a clean installation. I needed a medium duty vise with sturdy construction that would resist racking reasonably well but did not want to pay for the “premium” brands. Yost has been around for a long time, so I was familiar with older products. It took about 2 hours to mount on the bench, taking my time. I purchased a 7/8-inch dowel handle at a local woodworking store and made a face out of 2x6 stock to complete the install. It works the way I need it to. I believe the value for the price is really good in this price point. I would recommend to others.

Real sturdy vice. Simple enough to install even without a template. The opening is wide enough to clamp a 2x8 and work with it confidently. Had to make my own handle but a broken broom handle worked just fine.
